Good stuff from Terence McKenna

One of my favorite philosophers.
In this first talk, he discusses accepting vs rejecting our modern culture, and the difficulty in raising children that goes along with it.
"We all want our children to be well adjusted. Unfortunately, there's nothing to be well adjusted to."
He maintains that "the cost of sanity in this society is a certain level of alienation."



"A curious betrayal has occured in science."
In this talk, McKenna laments modern scientific methodology that ignores strange or unexpected occurances simply because they're often
"statistically insignificant".
He also discusses William of Occam, the 14th century philosopher. (And one of McKenna's heroes.)
Occam's 'efficient reasoning' philosophy became known as 'Occam's razor'.
