Since the beginning of the 60s it is believed the Y-chromosome determine the sex of a child. How exactly this happens has remained a mystery until recently. Moreover, at the disposal of scientists there were facts disproving the decisive role the Y chromosome in shaping masculinity. For example, there are individuals in whom the presence of both X chromosomes did not prevent them from being boys Geneticists call such men reversed women, actually they look as average boys. Even in the absence of the entire Y-chromosome SRY has a decisive role in determining the gender. This area is responsible for the production of testosterone. Then the hormone and the receptor penetrate into the nuclei of cells where they both bind to DNA, and engage the genes needed to make a man.
The opposite issue: many families have mutations damaging the receptor, which usually leads to the birth of a girl. However, during the process of growing, they didn't get their periods. These girls are called male pseudohermaphrodite. They have one clearly masculine trait - their height: in adulthood, they become very high. Until recently, the inhabitants of village Salinas, the Dominican Republic, wrongly determined the sex of some boys, considering them girls. Such cases are so common that villagers came up with a special nickname for them: guevedoche, or "penis at the age of twelve”. 'penis at twelve' people. All guevedoches lack the enzyme called 5-α-reductase, which converts testosterone into the more potent form dihydroxytestosterone, DHT. Any mutation affecting this enzyme leads to a lack of DHT and external genitalia growth disorders.

Whatever...we are all made of both genetic markers, female and male.

So when does this form of testing become the norm and each of us get a certificate stating if we are OK or not as perceived by the ignorant.

Is it someone one would want to know about their partner and would it make a difference?

Caitlin above is obviously able to date whomever she chooses because she is beautiful. Don't know about her personality but thats the concern of her beloved isn't it.

At least it explains a condition that many from the religiosity would consider to be a gift from the devil. Thank heaven for science.

I don't think "bi" is too fancy of a word but suit yourself.

I say she's not a lesbian because she's dating and I'm assuming banging a guy. But she calls herself a lesbian and I'm assuming that means she bangs women too. She personally said that she likes the term "fluid". So no, she's not just a lesbian.

But who cares as they are all just labels anyway. When you're that hot you can do stuff like that. All fluid and whatever. I wouldn't know as I'm "solid" myself.

we "humans" are a diverse group. we all have genetic makeup from both parents mom and dad, its super super complicated what markers get activated and which ones dont, you can be sure people have been trying to come up with the best results possible for a very long time and still do today
