ok but we are not causing hurricanes tornadoes and other natural disasters with co2. We are causing things like EPA flooding rivers...

Ok. We're also causing mountains of waste, an island of plastic particles floating in the oceans, deforestation, over fishing, genetically modified crops, toxic waste, oil spills, tar sands bile, strip mining, etc. Should we just ignore the effects of those things because they aren't hurricanes or natural disasters???

A couple of those actually produce massive amounts of co2 as well BTW.

Ya know like the worlds largest polluters, China, and India.

Man-made climate change is not a fact, and also not a falsity. It is a theory. It doesn't matter how many or who agrees with which side...it is not a fact one way or the other. With that said and understood...you can't prosecute or stop people from voicing one side of an opinion. Not in the United States at least...until Obama overturns freedom of speech.

We're a huge polluter what are you talking about???? The U.S., especially for it's size is a massive polluter, poisoner of air and water and food and one of the worst when it comes to waste.

Everyone, all countries need to be involved. Typical self righteous attitude of American Ego and selfishness.

I honestly can't even stand talking to you man. You attitude is everything that makes every other country hate us. Your arrogance and undeserved self importance and unwillingness to admit your part of the problem.

Funny you should quote Heartland:

The Heartland Institute, according to the Institute's web site, is a nonprofit "think tank" that questions the reality and import of climate change, second-hand smoke health hazards, and a host of other issues that might seem to require government regulation. A July 2011 Nature editorial points out the group's lack of credibility:

"Despite criticizing climate scientists for being overconfident about their data, models and theories, the Heartland Institute proclaims a conspicuous confidence in single studies and grand interpretations....makes many bold assertions that are often questionable or misleading.... Many climate sceptics seem to review scientific data and studies not as scientists but as attorneys, magnifying doubts and treating incomplete explanations as falsehoods rather than signs of progress towards the truth. ... The Heartland Institute and its ilk are not trying to build a theory of anything. They have set the bar much lower, and are happy muddying the waters."[1]
An August 2014 Travis County Texas court ruling highlighted President and CEO Joseph Bast's lack of credibility and reliability:

"Mr. Joseph Bast, president and CEO of the Heartland Institute, testified for the Intervenors regarding the Texas Taxpayers’ Savings Grant Programs (“TTSGP”), a school voucher bill that failed in the 82nd Legislative Session. As a threshold matter, this Court finds that Mr. Bast is not a credible witness and that he did not offer reliable opinions in this matter. While Mr. Bast described himself as an economist, he holds neither undergraduate nor graduate degrees in economics, and the highest level of education he completed was high school. Mr. Bast testified that he is 100% committed to the long-term goal of getting government out of the business of educating its own voting citizens. Further, his use of inflammatory and irresponsible language regarding global warming, and his admission that the long term goal of his advocacy of vouchers is to dismantle the “socialist” public education system further undermine his credibility with this Court."[2]

I suggest everyone reading this thread check out the above website. The Heartland Institute is precisely the organized lobbying/propaganda group that is going to be investigated and found guilty under RICO. They accept money under the table from groups and individuals working against the best interests of the American people, and use it to corruptly influence public opinion and the political process.

again, I would not have thought of that method. Who did?

Marxists and depopulation supporters like John Holdren(forced sterilization through mass medication in the water), Agenda 21 supporters like Al Gore and the UN's Maurice Strong....etc.

Perhaps you personally do not advocate such extreme measures of control...but others do.

Historian looking back: "well..... and now we come to our global warming wars exihibit. This was a time in which many scientist, and government types colluded together to sell th enow proven lie of Manmade global warming. This eventually led to the planets population to split along lines of believers and deniers of this radical theory. Eventually China was attacked by Global warming terrorist. Leading the chinese to set about purging them and invoking the wrath of the AGW believers. From there the violence spread liek wildfire through asia and then to the entire planet.

Student:Who were th eleaders at th e time?

historian: Well apparently Al gore was th e leader of the AGW believers. This Little pathetic man who eventually became president sought to make trllions of dollars for him and his co horts.
Leading the opposition to AGW is unclear.. some say it was A conspiracy website called Above top secret...others say it was George Carlin or something. Its been lost in the aftermath though.

OK children moving on....Next is...."the death of the UN and the idea of countries.

Ironic that was since what our 'jobs' are to debunk real world 'truth's'.

How anyone is defending it on here is just dumbfounding.

Never mind that George Soros is one of the biggest promoters and funders of climate change alarmist groups and websites

Groups in this category typically oppose mining and logging initiatives, commercial fishing enterprises, development and construction in wilderness areas, the use of coal, the use of pesticides, and oil and gas exploration in “environmentally sensitive” locations. Moreover, they claim that human industrial activity leads to excessive carbon-dioxide emissions which, in turn, cause a potentially cataclysmic phenomenon called “global warming.” Examples of such Soros donees include the Alliance for Climate Protection, Earthjustice, the Earth Island Institute, Friends of the Earth, Green For All, and the Natural Resources Defense Council.

What's dumbfounding is that some people are acting as mouthpieces for the real conspiracy.

The only ego's I see getting bruised are the climatephobes.

So hurt the climatephobes are they ran to the state to make free thinkers stop thinking freely.

Time will tell all neo

As I said before - your opinion is no longer important to this. That's not personal - its just the way this is going to go

You don't have to like it - none of us is going to like this. That's the most difficult part of all

You want to make this a left right issue? Why do you always need an enemy? I would have preferred a civil conversation - but I also understand that that's not possible

This is about humanity - as well as the rest of life as it now exists on this beautiful planet of ours

A civil conversation as long as it goes the way you want it to....

That is authoritarian, border line dictatorial, not a civil conversation.

And because others disagree with you and your conclusions.... You think it is OK to treat them like criminals...

Ya really civil of you

So it does matter even if you say it doesn't. Until the opposition is removed, not much movement or very slow.

I think you misunderstand what I'm saying

The opposition will have to come around eventually - there are consequences for all of us that are inescapable

Until realistic solutions are prposed to deal with this global problem on a global scale, I doubt it. And these scientists understand that. It's why the method to remove opposition is being taken. If your problem stated and solution stated are that sound not too many people debate it. Not too much opposition to 1 + 1 =2.

so a potential solution is a one world government?

This is kind of like "scientist" requesting prosecution of religions who disagree with Evolution? What is the difference?

No scientist would ever do that, for one thing. Climate change is a public health and safety issue, for another.

Lol, says who?

It is neither to me.

You and those like you that think you get unilaterally suspend logic and others rights because you say it is, is absolutely going to end badly, are you insane?

That is the same rational used my the muzzies, no wonder the left likes them so much, they share a little in common.

Both are absolutely positive they are right in their beliefs, and both think the ends justify the means used to achieve them, no matter what it takes!!!!

Wow!!

Truth is what I am talking about it. I know it's mind-boggling.

Could China, the World’s Biggest Carbon Emitter, Ever Go Green?

I really wish people would make up their minds.

Either the US is the 'worlds' policeman or we aren't.

Can't have it both ways.

WE AREN'T CHINA!!!

All we can do is fix up our own back yard man. We can try to get China to join in but that's it. What we can do is work on our part. Quit worrying about what everyone else is doing and think about what we're doing first.

Which is exactly the point.

The US doesn't control the world.

And unless a 'one' world government is formed there is no action taken anywhere will ever do a damn thing to 'mitigate' so called 'global warming'.

Global warming a NEOCONS dream!

Where am I abandoning logic? Data is data, and the data shows an increase in the mean global temperature over the past 200 years. Where do I advocate suspending other people's rights? If an organization is corruptly influencing the political process, that's a crime, not a right.

That is the same rational used my the muzzies, no wonder the left likes them so much, they share a little in common.

With your attitude it's no surprise that you are a racist. In fact, it is the far right that has embraced Islamic fundamentalism: the share a hatred of Jews. (Like Soros.)

Both are absolutely positive they are right in their beliefs, and both think the ends justify the means used to achieve them, no matter what it takes!!!!

You mean like you?
