There are many levels to vaping, from use it right out of the package to build your own, such as shown in the OP.

OP _ I use a Kbox and ELeaf Melo tank. I really like the variable wattage settings on the Kbox. Goes from 8 to 40 with the touch of a button and light bar indicators for battery level and wattage. The Melo is a nice big tank that holds plenty of juice, with adjustable air flow.

First off, I just had to say thank you so much!

So, thanks to the above wonderful mod, I bought the ijust2 by eleaf. I had quit smoking in April, but fell "off the wagon", and was very upset with myself. Hubby was in the same boat. I had read other vaping threads, and was intimidated by all the things you can do, change, build yourself.

When it arrived, the book sucked, I'm not going to lie. It didn't tell me how to put the liquid in, that it came apart more than when it shipped, ect. Thank god for youtube. LOL

I know there are debates, regarding safety, attraction to children, and being a better quit smoking tool than other things.

So, here is MY OPINION only:

I think vaping is the best thing to come along for smokers, in years. It has helped me so much. After 3 days, I wasn't even thinking about a cigarette, like I was 3 months after just quitting. I was a 30 year smoker. I had the lungs of a 60 year old, with the beginnings of COPD.
I am now riding my bike, over a mile, and not even winded.
If vaping does nothing more, then get people off cigs, and outdoors doing more, I say do it.

And personally? I think big pharma and big tobacco will continue to fight the vapor industry. Yes, I know they have their fingers in it, but right now, there are so many "independents" that costs can be very low and such a big variety. They are going to want to rule, just like they do now, with cigs. There are only really the big two or three right?

And while the vapors haven't been out long enough, (they claim) for a stopping smoking study, I have actually been shocked by how many people I've spoken to that vape, that have been off the cigs for 2+ years, and are either using 3 mg nicotine, or none at all!

For me? I'm happy. I'm healthier. I can breath. Hubby is happier. He can breath.
How is that a bad thing?

reply to Vectror99 - the quote on your post won't actually appear in this reply body ? weird.

One thing I say to all vapers though, don't freaking vape indoor at a random business and say "wha whaaa, it's not smoke!"

but it is NOT smoke. it is water vapour and nicotine.... possible a pleasant fruity aroma with it, but certainly not that noxious acrid plumes of smoke that waft into your face and ruin your lunch...

Now, the argument can be made, that the nicotine is a problem for others also. I will concede that. hence I wouldn't be vaping in doors at work anyway.

It's a hobby, exactly.

Some people live their lives around coffee beans, and they're snobs to all who drink anything but the best beans brewed to prefection... Others like a cigar and will involve themselves in the subculture that exists for that vice.

I brew my own beer (used to anyway) and distill my own spirits (likewise, used to) and that is in no way a sign of my failed efforts to stop drinking, by avoiding store bought alcohol.

it's taking what I enjoy and making it mine.. yo may not consider vaping anything more than an excuse people are using to continue to ingest nicotine.

Well, even if it were the case, So what???

We drink an addictive substance every day, in fact I mentioned people who have taken their addiction to a new level... coffee connoisseurs would soon tell you what's what if you were to say "you're bean addicts, nothing more. Just because you have a fancy coffee pot and expensive beans... "

anyhoo, the bottom line is this. Your head is a chemistry lab. Inside it are all the tools to make all the things that people find externally. Right inside your brain. all the receptors and neurotransmitters that make you feel good.

I say we put that to good use.

I dozed off waiting for replies and this thread flourished. Even got a post by the man himself. (SkepticOverlord)
Let me get my coffee and my Tesla and play catch up in the thread.

I LOVE not smoking any more. It's been two years without tobacco...I don't stink...I can breathe...sleep better...and I owe it all to e-cigs!
These things work! I also love how they recharge on your computer or in your car.
I buy Westside Vapor E-cigs with cartridges. I couldn't go back to tobacco again, if I wanted to.

Welcome to the Vaping family SO. I got my start on Kanger products, had the ProTank at first. It was a great little addy for the first time vapor, beats those BLU devices hands down.

How is the SubTank, good airflow and ease of coil replacement? I ass because i want to get a good sub ohm tank instead of dripping all day when I'm out.

I have been looking at the Ijust 2 as a more portable Sub Ohm solution to my vaping desires.

I haven't been to Henley I am afraid, i live upstate. I go to Unique for all my gear and juices. Speaking of juices, i think they have some of the best flavor combinations i have found to date.

Thanks for your reply.

i made the switch. Haven't had a cigarette in about 5 days, and had maybe 3 in the 9 days prior. I still sometimes want a cigarette, but a few big old lung hits of custard 12mg cures that craving pretty quickly.

Im still feeling my way around the endless options....have had some good folks give me guidance. In the last 7 days I have gotten my wife and mom to put down cigarettes and pick up vaping.

I use it at my desk at work. My office smells like custard. Or zebra stripes.

A great question. Yes and no; They have different air flow rates, some adjustable some not. Some have three posts inside for coil wrapping some have four. Different configurations for your unique pallet, lets you fine tune your vape for maximum pleasures.

I myself like a dense warm vape with great flavor. Those little pre wound coils for ego style devices use silica wick and are so small they gunk up and taste bad pretty quickly.

With rebuild-able devices all you gotta do is remove the cotton and get it red hot, dip it under the sink. The cold water creates a temperature change that makes all the carbon gunk (Cheaper Juices) come right off. Then you just put new cotton in and off you go.

Since i have went to the Adirondack line of juices i haven't had carbon on my coils.

Nice mod collection. I don't like my Kayfun clone, not enough air flow for me personally.

You'll be up to a box mod in no time if you stick with it.

We all start out with the best of intentions only to go all out once we've decided we aren't going to go back to smoking!

Doge v4 atty on ipv3. Single coil setup, twisted 28g ni200 wire 10 wrap running at .12 ohm. decent build, but still not fully used to nickel builds lol

Also I make my own juice, currently working with a strawberry cheesecake flavor I made last night from strawberry ripe, bavarian creme, cheesecake graham cracker and pie crust and a few drops of sweetener. Its an absolutely amazing flavor!

Absolutely no thanks needed and I am so glad it's working for you!!

I'm a fellow COPD'er here and was first diagnosed before I was 30. How sad is that that tobacco can ruin your life like that?

I'm happy to guide anyone away from the same fate and big tobacco. Keep up the good fight and know that you can do it.

I wouldn't ever recommend efest chargers there nice looking but I don't trust them

Check the reviews over on candlepower

When dealing with lipos I always go with the safest route iv seen them detonate

I have never used lipos, so I have no idea how good an Efest charger for them would be. But I have had both Nitecore and Efest for 18650s and the Efest is easily my preferred charger.

Just wondering, how come you arent scrunching your coils together? it helps maintain a constant temperature across the coil as opposed to running separated wraps
