Police activity at Union Station in Washington, D.C.

No link to follow yet, my crawler just sent me an alert about a tweet from DC Metropolitan PD.

Multiple agencies are on scene at Union Station. Authorities asking people to avoid the area. Only thing that's come out so far is that it is NOT an active shooter. There are reports of gunfire earlier, and pictures of people both walking and running out of the station.

Several local media outlets are en route.

Will post a link as soon as I find one.

Security guard shoots person

A security guard at Union Station shot a person Friday afternoon, according to D.C. police.

Details were preliminary, said Lt. Sean Conboy, a police spokesman. The condition of the victim was not immediately available. The shooting occurred shortly before 1 p.m.

WTOP is reporting a shooting and a stabbing. U.S. Capitol is advising people to stay away as well now.

Although Union Station is wide open to the public, it's used heavily by government employees in addition to Amtrak riders and local residents. I'll keep an eye on it to see what develops and who's involved.

No worries guys, it appears to be just another case of cops shooting a knife wielding man.

don't do anything today (9/11) that police would misinterpret as being terrorist....don't run, try not to act sneaky, no middle eastern garb, don't start shouting Islamic slogans inside public places.....hair triggers on all LEO's today

DEVELOPING: Security officers shot a man after he pulled out a knife Friday inside the food court of Union Station, near Capitol Hill in Washington, law enforcement sources told Fox News.

I've always thought that if a person is stupid enough to
pull a knife on a person with a firearm? The person brandishing
the knife gets shot. Hence as the saying goes, "Never bring a
knife to a gunfight". Possible suicide by rent a cop?
