Russia never intended on going into Syria.. then the US went and put troops and material into Ukraine and the Russians took it personally.

If things in Damascus deteriorate rapidly, I wonder if Russia would provide asylum to Assad?

What happens when a faction on the rebels side who was supported by the US, faces off against a politically murky, pro Assad force whom is backed by Russia? who will shoot the first bullet ?

Such a thing has never happened . yet another propaganda .

Please note that Iranian public opinion strongly - and i mean very strongly - favors such a decision . the same thing can be said about international sentiments towards it . there is zero doubt that such deployment -however small - will have a very big international coverage .

not just by some yellow israeli networks or other networks for that matter

You need to pay attention then..This has been public knowledge for a few years.

“Today we fight in Syria for interests such as the Islamic Revolution,” Hossein Hamedani said at a conference, according to the original post by the Fars news agency. “Our defense is to the extent of the Sacred Defense,” the commander went on, using the regime’s term for the 1980-88 war with Iraq, a reference that signals the importance the Islamic Republic places on the survival of the Syrian regime of President Bashar Assad.

The more the US refuses to attack ISIS or allow other countries to bomb them then the more they will be exposed for what they are.

When did they do that?

There are some confused people on these boards, aren't there?

Nice to see you used an RT link too - hard for them to use the old "propaganda" line when you link them to any western news agency.

Over half the Syrian Army has either died, joined the rebels or just run off. Assad has been propped up by Iran, Hezbollah, Lebanese militias and loyalist militias. These forces fight but, their are not many of them. The Russian are not adding much to help either. In the end the Syrians will not fight for Assad and thus he continued series of defeats.

On the Western side you have the Free Syrian Army, which is still rebuilding from when Assad and ISIS double teamed them and the Kurds instead of fighting each other. While the airstrikes have kept ISIS from attacking the Kurds and FSA they can only advance slowly do to lack of trained manpower. Then you have a dozen other groups all fighting every else depending on the day.

The problem is this. Assad is collapsing to fast. All that equipment the Russians have been selling him could end up in the wrong hands. And since the largest foreign force is ISIS comes from Russia, they do not want them coming home armed to the teeth in particular in a region like Chechnya where nobody is really in control.

Yeah and this is more apt here then the previous thread where I paraphrased the quote.

If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the devil in the House of Commons.

The US has not hit Syrian Government targets for the obvious reason that they have air defenses. Syria does bomb both ISIS and other Syrian rebel areas. The US also hits things that can be captures by ISIS when Assad's forces run off. If the US was not hitting ISIS the FSA and the Kurds would have been over run months ago.

Yea, right, you may recall they tried to bomb Syria back to the stone age a few years ago and stopped by the Russians, then ISIS mystriously appears out of nowhere with no end of organisstion, money, leadershsip, logistical support and march stright into Syria. Then we are supposed to beleive that the US is bombing ISIS only and deperatley trying not hit anyhthing Syrian by mistake and is acutally trying to help Syria ?????

That kind of stuff is what one would expect straight out of the CIA. Perhaps there are CIA operatives on this forum?
