Iran has deployed hundreds of fighters in Syria, unprecedentedly deepening its involvement on behalf of President Bashar Assad in the Syrian civil war, Israeli security officials said Thursday.

'dramatic escalation' indeed.

Russia aligning with Iran, US aligning with Israel, do the math-

as the Israeli & US missiles continue to strike Syria, how will this fan out?

The West's airstrikes in Syria are attacking ISIS so right now everyone in Syria, thinking about going to Syria, are fighting ISIS. Bad news for ISIS, good news for Assad, but will the West strike Assad as well? Definitely possible.

I wouldn't say hundreds of Iranian troops is a dramatic escalation. Iran has been assisting Syria the entire time from aid to troops. Iran is even in Iraq fighting ISIS.

Yeah, well let's stop bombing Syria and give the Russians a go. They weren't much good in Afghantistan and it will give the blame merchants on here some-one else to blame instead of the US, Israel and the UK. But I suppose they'll turn it round and say the Russians are only putting our wrongs right.

And the point is? Let em have it out.The US stays out of this. Assad continues his extermination with the help of Russia and Iran. The mass invasion of Europe continues on for the next 30 years or so. The US maintains a no intervention due to President Obama's leadership.The situation in the ME and Europe worsens.At this point , we really shouldnt give a rat's donkey .

If it's 100s of troops I imagine they are military advisers.

As to bombing Syrian ISIS targets. all that does is create a new generation of terrorist 10 to 15 year's down the line when any survivors grow up and decide to grind there axe.

Let's hope Obama et al wake up and smell the roses, talk with Iran and Russia, and change tack.

ISIS is a common enemy. Let's make that a focus of international cooperation and let Assad be.

All the world powers are slowly teaming up. To destroy ISIS. It's about time we put all our differences aside and actually worked together towards something important.

Bye bye bye ISIS. They will be pretty much completely destroyed by the end of the year. The idiots are about to pull some outrageous terror # that will make us all want to mash them to pulp. Which we will then proceed to do.

It's ugly but their has to be a cull. It's called natural selection. They can be likened to dangerous rabid animals. We need to kill them. Now. So we can all rebuild and get on with our lives in a civilized way.

ISIS is really just cannon fodder.

This isn't new or exciting. Iran has had forces in Syria since the start and they have been actively participating in the fighting. In fact, many of the IRGC that have been killed have been from the 8th Armoured Division, which seems to imply significant deployment from Iran.

I think you (and others) may be right, Russia has been fighting religious wackos far longer than we, they have had long ties to Assad and want some pipeline routes. Iran doesn't want the extremist Sunni sect to catch on, them being Shiam they also believe they are a middle east superpower (or want to be.) They both have as as much right to be there as anyone does.

Maybe what the middle east needs is to be broken into a bunch of smaller countries based on who lives where. This time, how about Europe and the US, for that matter, stay out of picking the borders.

But first we have to kill the death cult chaos-machine that is IS, ISIS or ISIL or whatever they are called.

Actually US and various allies are about to go all in and bomb the Assad regime. Iran and Russia will be on Syrias side and give the US and allies every reason to exapnd the war into Iran and Russia.

WW3 is about to happen and we will all be witness to the horror of it.
