Hillary Was In Favor of a National Gun Tax in 1993 - How About Today?

An old video has been posted that has Hillary in front of a Senate Finance Committee hearing way back in 1993.

The Senate was looking into a "tax" on guns in particular, and Hillary emphasized her being in favor of a 25% national sales tax on guns.

Hmmm.

I wonder if she still supports that idea?

And it seems she has good experience with Congressional hearings.

A lot of support for that in '93.

At the time, The Clinton White House seemed to be dodging the idea.

Story-Article

As she testified before the tax-writing Senate Finance Committee on Sept. 30, 1993, Hillary Clinton was asked by Sen. Bill Bradley (D-N.J.) if she supported the imposition of a new, 25 percent national sales tax on guns. Clinton emphatically endorsed the tax, stating: "I am all for that."

As reported by the Associated Press on Oct. 1, 1993:

Sen. Bill Bradley, D-N.J., picked up Mrs. Clinton's support for his idea of slapping stiff taxes on ''purveyors of violence:'' a 25 percent sales tax on guns and $2,500 license fees for gun dealers.

''Speaking personally ... I'm all for that,'' said the first lady. But she stressed she was just speaking for herself.

''Well, let me say that there is no more important personal endorsement in the country today, and I thank you very much,'' said a pleased-as-punch Bradley.

After she publically endorsed the 25 percent gun tax in congressional testimony, she made sure that everyone understood how important this was to her, saying: "I am speaking personally, but I feel very strongly about that."

HRC base is dwindling, and if past platforms on gun control can be used as reference, it was the kiss of death for many running for office. She has so many problems facing her at this time, I doubt she'll bring it up at the risk of pissing off more voters.

If she wants a template for a gun and ammo tax, look no further than the progressive Seattle City Council and the recently passed tax on both:

www.seattletimes.com...

Washington State's Constitution is explicit and comprehensive when it comes to gun ownership, and this idiotic attempt to curb "gun violence" will be stricken down as violating said Constitution.

There's already an excise tax on firearms and ammunition.

Any idiot should realize that a high tax on new firearm sales will encourage people to buy from individual sellers instead of dealers, thereby foregoing the antis' beloved background check.

Hillary has already stated her love for gun control in this campaign because she knows that her base supports it as well. There's not a pro gun person with 2 brain cells to rub together that will vote for Hillary Clinton.

Yes, there already is one. 10% on guns, and 11% on ammunition. You don't see it because it's collected from the manufacturers.

Dont worry , the Hillary will be back . Who is she running against ? One candidate keeps asking everyone to correct his political stance , " I am a registered Socialist , not a Democrat". But no one is listening. The other one is not running / And as this email scandal fades off into the sunset , then she will start on gun control....

The email scandal won't fade. It seems to be deliberately designed to trickle out slowly so Hillary can't escape it and every time she gets on TV, her ratings drop.
