Exactly what?

I asked you what an average of 1 explosion a week seems abnormal as compared to what and you say "exactly?"

What does that mean?

it means I agree, compared to what...

What is normal?

Chicken or egg...

Actually it is called SDS now.

But the issue is setting and adhering to SOPs that would require a safe handling and tracking.

Chinese manufacturing and chemical storage has never been up to par. It took the US many many decades to establish safe practices, and yet we still have volitile accidents from time to time.

China has been pushing the fasttrack for years, and now the cracks are showing.

It aint anything but poor standards and practices. Nothing else. Nothing terroristic or warlike.

Just stupid government oversight, or lack of thereof.

EDIT: videos removed except for one from last month...

I left it simply because someone did an impressive job syncing six different angles of a previous Tianjin explosion into one video.

It appears that all the videos I posted are actually from a previous event even though they were all uploaded today and at least two were even dated with today's date in the video's title.

Thanks to WookieP for the heads up, see his posts below for the correct videos.

This event appears to have happened during daylight hours.

Looks as though people must be trying to get view counts for monitization of their channels using older videos.

I have always respected your posts here murg, but you are posting vids that were weeks ago, not even in the same place this newest news is reporting. This OP is talking about the very recent event in Zhejiang, your 5 already well known vids are from the Tianjin explosion which happened weeks ago....c'mon man!!

Are you sure?

Each one of those videos were uploaded within the last 24 hours...

I just removed one that obviously was from a previous event though.

I am not just sure, I am positive! There have been very little vids about this recent event, I'll see what I can find, but THOSE vids you posted were all about the Tianjin explosions, it even SAYS it in their descriptions...

Seriously, lives lost at this sites are just mere stats to you and explosions such as these seem not abnormal to you.
What was your point exactly? That it's normal.

I'm thinking you may be right...

The second one from the bottom looks to be from last month.

It has a name for the photographer that comes from an older video.

I saw that day light version you found but thought that the event happened at around midnight so I ignored it...

I thought they would be the correct versions since they were all uploaded today...

Obviously people must be trying to get views for their channels using older stuff.

Thanks Wookie, I just edited the post to let others know.

Will edit further if it gets confirmed.

An average of 1 explosion per week for the past month does not seem normal.

Compared to what?

thats an idiotic misuse of relativism phage. OF COURSE stuff blowing up is not normal unless they're designed to blow up. Unless its their PURPOSE. Now is it the purpose of a chemical plant to blow up? No. Therefore is not NORMAL.

Its not relative - "oh but its normal for plants in china to blow up" - NO ITS NOT. Stop saying stuff like that. Its not normal for that to happen ANYWHERE no matter the standards or what people consider "normal" - its not "compared to what".

People have to realize that in this world there are things, happenings, attitudes, behaviors, and so much more there are not subject to relativity. They affect absolutes - thats why absolutes exist - so you can say "this is black everywhere in the world, day or night, rain or sunny, doesnt matter if i'm happy or sad, if I like it or not, this will always be BLACK - ITS NOT RELATIVE to any sort of perception, twisting, anything.

So phage my friend - 1 chemical plant exploding is not normal let alone 4!

Not normal, except in countries trying hard, too hard, at being a manufacturing superpower. Without proper oversight.

Many of those accidents in China would never have happened if they had a strong arm called OSHA that would have shut them down on inspection.

Except you are twisting what Phage said. He said it's normal in China to have plants explode, not that plants are designed to explode.

nor·mal
ˈnôrməl/Submit
adjective

conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.

the usual, average, or typical state or condition.

It meets that definition. It's sad it's normal, doesn't change the fact it is.

I read it. I got it. Your post is simply wrong. Phage's "compared to what" is dead on. It IS relative.

Here's another vid brought to you by some textbook conspiracy theorists..... I know there are some other vids of this recent event, so I'll keep digging....

Typically that would be past experience. Since this is something that happened last year and the year before, it's normal compared to what you expect to happen in China.

What exactly would you compare it to?
