If she realize that drinking or serving drinks is haram (forbidden) then she should realize that travelling unescorted in public without a male chaperone from one's immediate family is also haram and thus she should quit her job and do internet sales from home, btw the jobs market in the states must be improving a heckova lot if folks can muck around with their jobs like that, and sadly Iam sure like the Kim Davis lady she won out over someone else who could have used that job.

Also if she is that devote does she wear a Burka on the plane also?

What if she were a porn star before turning muslim? Would she then say that she still wants her job but can't have sex? lol... An extreme example but not that different... I'm with the get a new job crowd! XD

If this woman had her hostess job BEFORE converting to Islam, then she should have quit her job because she would have realised that her job conflicted with her religion.

It's as simple as that. Her religion (ie way of life) should take priority over anything else.
I think a lawyer could successfully argue this in court.

But anyway, how is it forbidden for a Muslim to serve alcohol, but hotels in Muslim countries have bars (staffed by locals) where you can obtain an alcoholic drink? Can any Muslim on this board explain how that works to me?

Usually they are not locals unless the country is very liberal, alot of southeast Asians etc.

Have you been to Indonesia, for example.
90% of the population claim to be muslim.

I honestly think this is a solid example about how all different faiths share the common American dream.

What is more American than suing a big company in a frivolous lawsuit hoping to strike it rich!

I am surprised you feel that way. It is obvious to me that under normal circumstances filing a complaint with an employer would be not on ATS issue but now that it's about religion it is important. And because it's not Christian that means that a lot of people on the site have to take stances against it or for it or whatever. Muslim-immigrant are basically the same brown concepts we all hear about here in the rightness Of ATS. Gay-trans is the other group that is important only in the abstract. Just statistics glanced at on Wikipedia and typed furiously in the reply box.

In the end we are all here arguing for nothing and for or against people we don't know. What do I care if she gets fired? I really kinda don't. I just thought that as a Muslim her quirk is not handling alcohol, hmmm, I've heard worse. I can work with a quirk like that, I guess if the person is reliable enough. I assume other humans(but not all) will find a reasonable solution to work around a problem.

If you are hired to do a job, the requirements are quite clear beforehand. What if everyone assigned to the flight is Muslim what then? Aside from that, does she cover her face when she is working?

She is in public as a flight attendant, isn't that alone against her Muslim religion?

What about the uniform? I bet she has to wear a skirt or a blouse, is that acceptable behavior for a Muslim woman? What if somebody is an alcoholic? Should they be forced to serve alcohol?

What if there is an emergency and she is required to give CPR to a non-Muslim Male? Does that go against her Muslim faith?
