I hear ya, gretchen! I have had several "seating areas" over the years.

Wow. I wish.

Living in the tropics means the only no maintenance yard would mean no plants.

Everything grows. And keeps growing. A philodendron (what you guys call a house plant) gets leaves two feet across and eats any tree it gets close to. A nice areca palm turns into a spreading clump of 20 foot trunks. Bamboo? Nope. No way.

Grass. Grows..and grows...and grows.

Maybe concrete would work.
