Mind blowing experiment PROVING that Quantum Weirdness is real! Disproving Einsteins "local reality" loophole.

Networks that use quantum properties to guarantee secrecy are already springing up across the globe, but the loopholes are potential bugs in the laws of physics that might have allowed hackers through. “Bell tests are a security guarantee,” says Kofler. You could say Hanson’s team just patched the universe.

So, do you think this puts a nail in the whole, "Freedom of choice" casket? OR is this the first step in mankind manipulating reality via his own expectation?

As an idiot could you describe what is all about because I did try but my feeble mind didn't compute and I'm full of scotch and meds.
Does this mean wemake the universe exist in it's present state because we are observing it? or is my comprehension frazzled?.

No, it means that reality is the way it is because something created it and that all states/events in this reality are predetermined, there is no freedom of choice, hence no free will. There are no sinners or saints, you occupy a meat-puppet, much like a passenger on a train. You can observe but have no control over your "reality." I've been saying this for over 40 years lol.

Cheers - Dave

For those in the thread talking about predetermination and a lack of free will, I would argue that:

A) Poppycock

And B) Nonsense and buffoonery.

Quantum physical models can suggest whatever they like about inanimate matter, energy, the stuff of which the universe is made, but they have nothing to say about the behaviour of sentient beings upon the skein of reality, whose operation, philosophy, and methodologies vary and have power all their own, beyond, over, and above that of mere matter and energy. We are not mere machines, we are greater than the sum of the physics governing our existence, ergo we have no pre-determined destiny, unlike the inanimate items around us, which are pattern bound and have no fluidity to their fate.

A rock in the path of a lava flow is doomed to become one with the lava once more. A human being in the path of a lava flow can choose to fight fate and escape the area.

If senient beings have free will and free choice and behaviors....how do "profilers" achieve the success they have? People are creatures of habit, repetetive, and love routine in all aspects of their lives. They, no we, are the leopards not changing our spots.

I think Forrest Gump answered this question when he was asked what destiny was. Somehow it's a bit of both.

I believe we do have choices and that it will be played out in the multiverse.... it only seems here we have no choice, thus our universe here is predetermined by a multiverse of infinite you's. Now that's weird....

I think what they're saying is nonlocality is absolutely real.

Meaning, things that are truly separated (and that is what this test proves) are still somehow, as if by spooky action at a distance, able to be "connected" and transfer information between themselves.

Think of it like the can phones we all made as kids but then remove the string that connects them - remove everything that connects them - but keep the fact that information is sent between them, even without them being connected in a physical nuts and bolts way (like classical mechanics).

and I replied to you but just meant to post reply to topic or to everyone. force of habit.

that implies a lot.

Here's hoping you're right.

Unless your attempt to fight fate was predetermined to fail... kind of like an appearance of choice.

All this proves is that there are aspects of the quantum world which we don't fully understand. Any other claim would be ludicrous.

By the way, we already knew that we don't know everything.
