That's 66% of Trump supporters folks. I mean did I miss a picture of Obama going into a mosque to pray? I mean as a faithful muslim you need to do this 5 times a day. Or maybe his supporters just base this on the fact his middle name is Hussein. Obviously Obama is not muslim (personally I think he's a closet athiest but he plays the christian card to pander to american sensitivities). Regardless, a large portion of voters within the Republican party will believe anything negative about Obama and Trump is taking full advantage of this willful ignorance.

61% also don't believe he was born in the United States:

Two-thirds of Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump's supporters nationwide said they believe that President Barack Obama is a Muslim, according to a poll released Tuesday.

The poll from Public Policy Polling, a Democratic-leaning firm, found that 66 percent of Trump supporters said they believed that Obama is a Muslim while just 12 percent of those who favor the real estate mogul believe Obama is a Christian.

Supporters of just three establishment GOP candidates — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) — were more inclined to believe Obama was a Christian than a Muslim, according to the poll.

PPP's survey also found that 61 percent of Trump supporters said they did not believe Obama was born in the United States.

I mean is anybody surprised at this new poll? I'm certainly not. It's fairly apparent that the Republican party has been taken over by the fringe right of America and Trump is maximizing appeal towards this very segment. Fortunately I doubt this will be enough for him to get the presidency in the scenario he wins the nomination (which he won't). Hillary must be happy.

Trump is a fool and anyone voting for him is also.
I think the real reason many do not like him is because of his colour, they will not admit it so attempt to tarnish him by saying he is not american or a muslim.
Instead of actually attacking his policies they attack the man.
Mudslinging....

Not that I think he is, but I imagine Muslims can get around that. They can break their rules under certain conditions.

What evidence do you have to show that they can 'break the rules under certain conditions", care to elaborate on this more?

The OP doesn't surprise me in the least, and though I don't care for this administration's policies, I wouldn't give credence to unfounded name-calling. Trump's supporters believe in this tag solely for the negative connotation, no different from assigning the moniker "socialist" to Obama. Any tabloid headline to whip 'em up in a frenzy will do these days.

So essentially you believe Obama is a closet muslim, but you really have nothing to show that he is? You just believe this is the case? And what evidence do you have to show that they can 'break the rules under certain conditions", care to elaborate on this more? Who told you Obama was muslim?

I think you need to go back to school as you are clearly unable to understand English. Can you show me where I said Obama is a muslim?

It's called Taqiyya, get educated.

Another reason, Muslims are not supposed to pray in sight of the heretics.

Whether Obama is a Muslim or not, the premise of the OP is simply ridiculous. It's very easy to explain his not praying.

What bothers me about Trump is that he is speaking up on all the right issues, and I happen to agree with his supporters, its very hard not to notice what Obama is doing, who his brother is, and what's happening in Syria, also what happened in Libya and Egypt. You'd have to be brain dead, and I know many are, they are so programmed and poisoned by toxins, can't blame them.

Though Trump says all the right things, he is too conservative, doesnt care for the poor, and possibly, a tool for the NWO who likes to cover all roads.

But I disagree with this thread, and most people online are too awake to be peddled BS.

I've edited my post Occam, I mistook what you said so apologies.

I am still curious as to what you mean by Muslims getting around these rules?

Is it acceptable for a Muslim to deny they are Muslim and not attend regular prayers? I highly doubt it. I'd be curious if you have a source.

How's the OP ridiculous? There is simply no evidence to show he's a muslim. None. He's said it numerous times, he's not a muslim. Now you can claim this idea that Obama is lying (Taqiyya) and that he may very well be a muslim is disguise, but in the end this is just speculation. We can apply this to anybody who's ever stated they weren't muslim. Speculation is not evidence.

No harm no foul then. I did source it. It's called Taqiyya. It allows them to deny their faith under certain circumstances. Not only can they not pray, they can completely deny their faith in all ways.

I agree. I simply was showing Obama not praying is also not evidence. Obama can not pray, deny being Muslim, and it's all acceptable under Islam.

Yep I got a source:

Summary Answer:
Muslim scholars teach that Muslims should generally be truthful to each other, unless the purpose of lying is to "smooth over differences."

There are two forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted under certain circumstances, taqiyya and kitman. These circumstances are typically those that advance the cause Islam - in some cases by gaining the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.

www.thereligionofpeace.com...

I respect the idea that Obama could get around it hypothetically if he was, but, I'm asking for tangible proof he is a muslim, that the belief he is one has merit. That's what I'm not getting from Trump supporters etc.

Uhhhhh.......didn't you just "attack the man instead of his policies" in that post...

In fact over two-thirds of Trump haters do exactly what you're calling his supporters fools for.

Makes ya wonder how valid your opinion really is now....

There is no proof. It persists because you also can't prove he is not. I think it's very unlikely he is a Christian, and also unlikely he is a Muslim.

This here is interesting:

And only 29% grant that President Obama was born in the United States. That's less than the 40% who think Canadian born Ted Cruz was born in the United States.

www.publicpolicypolling.com...

More Trump supporters believe Ted Cruz was born in the US as opposed to Obama, despite the fact it's been made clear that Ted Cruz was born in Canada. It just goes to show, some people will believe things as a matter of convenience.

Trump should have been laughed out the room when he said he was running for POTUS

I'm amazed they are giving this ego driven rapist any airtime, and that's what he is,a rapist

He raped his ex wife so tried covering up the google searches for trump and rapist by smearing Mexicans as rapists so the top clicks are about his recent ignorant comments

Disgusting vile little man,who I expect cooks his books financially

It's all about his trump brand and this is giving him airtime he couldn't pay for without going broke

It's all about the money, look at that parasite wearing his red slogan cap at recent events then see he's selling them for a big knock up on his website including other election merchandise

Surely America can see behind this big bag of hot air?

I don't like the clintons either or Obama to be honest, there must be a candidate for America than the current contenders

So, basically, just letting the rest of the world know what everyone already knows -- the majority of Trump's fanboys & girls are utterly dumb as frakk.

The sad thing isn't that they're dumb as frakk, it's that people are still surprised about it.
