I absolutely agree!!
I haven't been a life-long voter, I only really started to care when I became a parent in the late 80s. Even then, I barely knew anything about the whole political machine. I know infinitely more now, and STILL barely consider myself 'literate' in the subject.

These quizzes DO help people who aren't immersed in politics and its nuances to choose a candidate. I used to wait until voting day, read the local paper for the all-too-brief little bio/platform things of the people running, and then say, "Hmm, okay, that sounds like what I kinda think." Then, off I'd go - cast my vote - and forget about it.

Now, however, I have years and years of reading and studying and examining history....
and I'm still intimidated by the whole thing!

95% Bernie!

I did all the questions and used the sliding scale and other stances.

86% Hillary
69% O'Malley
37% Rand Paul
27% Donald
18% Jeb!
10% Ben Carson

85% rand and 75% bernie.

This is so odd to me, but I've seen a similar spread on many who have posted in the various threads where this site has been linked. To me, the two men could not be any more different from each other. One is a nanny-state loving, redistributionist/socialist who adores big government and policies supporting government regulation of virtually everything while the other is a pseudo libertarian, anti-tax, anti-big government, anti-regulation, fiscal Conservative who has embraced just enough GOP policy to not be spited by the establishment Republicans.

I struggle to find enough common ground between these two to account for only a 10% difference in the spread.

I thi k some times things are not always that black or white.

Not being from the USA give me one advantage. Im detached from the US media and can see things abit more neutral.

Bernie and paul do want the same things, difference is they have differing methods on how to reach that goal.

These pop up every election cycle.

They know 90% of you will think you came up with Bernie Sanders on your own.

The other ten I see already scratching their heads.

Just finished and I have to say, I'm not surprised at the results.

I lined up with Bernie Sanders to the tune of 99% and that's exactly who I'd vote for if the election were held today.

While I did like the questions, I felt like there should have been more, like maybe some questions regarding foreign and/or trade policy.

Thanks for posting! F&S

I got a pretty close race which to be honest isn't a big surprise. But I can tell you the first two I am not voting for even so that leaves me with Trump and Sanders which is where I want to be. Sanders first then Trump.

Clinton - 77%
Bush - 75%
Trump - 70%
Sanders - 69%

Anyone else see the side bar? Compare with friends and it has AbovetopSecret.com listed?

88% Bernie, which I already knew. Hillary was second choice even though I can't stand her. The republican candidates weren't even in the ballpark.

96% for Ted Cruz and 95% for Bern Carson. I would be happy with either of them for president.

It tried to push Marco Rubio (98%) and Rick Santorum (96%) on me. I don't care for either of them.

82% Bush and 78% Sanders. Now I'm confused. I don't even know myself.

Im 86% matched with Rand Paul. I like what he says, but I have doubts about how honest he is being

The survey reinforces biases toward governmental control.

The survey will ask whether the government should legalize or allow something, but the survey never asks whether the goverment should have that scope and range of power in the first place.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Its very politically oriented rather than constitutionally oriented.

As long as there is a write in my vote is going to who I want, not who I am presented by the dnc/gop.
I do see what you are getting at though.

I finally got to finish mine, and I'm 91% Cruz, 89% Paul according to them. That fits with what I keep saying conservative/libertarian. Only 13% Sanders and 20% Hillary.

That ought to surprise no one.

My biggest concerns are immigration, economy and education.

No, it fits with what some keep saying - Establishment Republicans and others in DC are really all birds of the same flock. So don't worry, Bush may not talk the Sanders game, but he really wants pretty much the same end game.

My also-rans were Santorum, Walker, Bush (ugh!), Trump and Carson. THEN it presented me with Hillary and Sanders as after thoughts.

It's funny because when they asked me whom I would vote for I picked Fiorina because I've liked her no nonsense attitude so far, and I still really don't have a solid favorite.

She's nowhere on my list.
