What a person thinks it is in his head it doesn't make it so in reality, no matter how hard the person believes it.

For the rest of us what we see is reality; we see a male body - that's it, is a male, in every sense and meaning of the word.
So 200 girls saw a male in their locker, and didn't want him there, what is all the fuss about?
Why trans people have to always make such a fuss about their own personal and unique problem?

People with daltonism don't see red/green color yet you'll never see one going out of his way to convince us all that red is not red but gray, they don't invent new words for the colors we all "appear" to see but we don't - to fit their narrow perception, they don't feel offended, and understand that there is a whole world of colors they cannot access not because other people won't let them but because they are born that way.

Why the trans people always blame the world for their problem instead of learning to accept it? How they expect others to accept it if they cannot do it themselves?

Someone born with a healthy body, with full functioning genitalias which correctly define its gender, but in its heads feels like a different gender, it's exactly that: a person with a problem in its head. And until corrected by the means the science and medicine offer today, like transition and surgery and so on, at least pretend to respect the rest of the world who may or may not get "your head" and the social rules we all live by. So as long as a person have a male body it should definitely use the same facility as the rest of the male bodies, or at best, a separate one, and should stop feeling offended because it was born different, and be such an attention seeker.

If that boy would had had a birth malformation, let's say programmed for surgery at a later age, would he be so eager to make a fuss about it, or it would have gladly accepted a separate facility? But hey, having a penis and pretending to be a female is on the trend right now, so why not draw some attention then blame the rest of the world for not seeing the oh, so obvious female side of his penis. Let's get real.

And yeah, no intend to disrespect but if that girl in that picture is sleeping, I am queen of Sheba....

It has been an emotionally taxing thing to read through because it takes me right back to some of the things I faced.

I think you should give this topic a break for a while, seriously maybe it isn't healthy to continue,

Yeah, you know reading this stuff has really trashed my opinion of this place that I used to think was a little more open minded and at least willing to try to deny ignorance, not spread and vehemently defend it. I'd also be curious to know if any of these keyboard warriors would have even half the balls to say some of this stuff to my or Jade's face? Doubt it.

I originally thought a site with the motto Deny Ignorance would be more open minded too. But, found (IMO) it leans Right Wing Christian.

However, I think the site has actually progressed in open mindedness with the social/equality/gender/sexuality discussions.

Please keep posting. I have learned so much.

i wonder what happens when 20 or 30 years down the line when a boy that lived as a boy and then had surgery to become a girl starts to 'regress' back to feeling like a boy again.

if a person can live for 20 years as a man and then start to identify as a woman then they can start to feel like a man again.

matter of fact i cant wait to discuss the new article when it happens

For those of you claiming that transgenderism is some kind of mental disorder even though that has been thoroughly debunked ages ago, here are a couple of educational links Bayne provided in another transgender topic thread.

www.functionalneurology.com...
news.bbc.co.uk...

Educate yourselves. Education is knowledge, and knowledge is knowing. And as G.I. Joe always said, "Knowing is half the battle."

Nobody hates you, nobody even knows you personally (I think).
People discuss here ideas, and yes sometimes people hate some of them and love some others.
But that is the same for everyone, is not personal.
Shouldn't even matter in ten minutes from now.
Be well and don't take it so hard

Dr. Paul R. they don't want you to know about that, there are some that have been trying to get the word out.
here is the link to two of them

Mr Finch said: "Anatomically, I was never a woman. [The surgery] was creating a battleground within my own body. It's just rearranging flesh, but the tissue that's used is still male tissue. I was never able to have any orgasm or sexual pleasure. Everything was fake about it, from top to toe."
Man who became woman wants to be a man agai

By the age of 50, however, she realised she had made a terrible, terrible mistake. "I just thought I was a girl trapped in a boy's body," Heyer recalls of his first struggles with his gender identity. "My doctor was convinced [I was dysphoric]; I was convinced [I was dysphoric]. But it wasn't until the [post-surgery] regret started that I began to ask, 'How on earth did this happen?' I began to weep about it and feel how absolutely, utterly foolish I'd been. This was about the worst thing I could have done to my body, my life and myself."
The in-betweeners

now they will tell you that those that now regret getting GRS number is low, but many others seem to think other wise.

This situation is about feelings, which happens to be the new political currency—am I comfortable? am I not offended? does my environment accommodate me? am I considered? what about my feelings?

If there is nothing pathological about this issue, and it all comes down to feelings, there literally is no issue. If one is unable to use a locker or restroom for physical reasons, such as a disability, then there is an issue that needs dealing with. If one is unable to use a locker or restroom for subjective reasons, because he is uncomfortable doing so, that is something only he can deal with.

Try a washroom in rural Cambodia, where there is nothing but a hole in the ground and a bucket of murky water, and tell them you deserve better.

Dr. Paul McHugh? Really?

Talk about ignorant dinosaurs.

Clinging to a dangerous past: Dr Paul McHugh’s selective reading of transgender medical literature
June 15, 2014

In a June 12th opinion article in the Wall Street Journal, well-known anti-transgender psychiatrist Dr Paul McHugh attempts to make a case against supporting hormonal and surgical transition for transgender individuals. McHugh, professor of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University, has been actively working against the medical treatment of trans people since the 1970’s. As the university’s chief psychiatrist, he was instrumental in closing the Johns Hopkins Gender Program in 1979, one of the first programs of its kind, citing the 1977 study by his Hopkins colleague Dr Jon Meyer, which claimed that surgical intervention did not improve the psychological functioning of the individuals treated. McHugh himself admits to directing Meyer to conduct to further his anti-trans agenda in a 2004 article titled “Surgical Sex”. In the same article, McHugh also continues to preach the largely discredited “autogynephilia” theory of Ray Blanchard and J. Michael Bailey. McHugh is also known for filing an amicus curiae brief in Hollingsworth v. Perry, asserting that homosexuality is a choice, as well as for his participation of the campaign against Kansas abortion provider Dr George Tiller– who was murdered in 2009 by a anti-abortion activist. - See more at: www.transadvocate.com...

GID is classified as a medical disorder by the ICD-10 CM[7] and DSM-5 (called gender dysphoria)

The current medical approach to treatment for persons diagnosed with GID is to support the individual in physically modifying the body to better match the psychological gender identity.[10] This approach is based on the concept that their experience is based in a medical problem correctable by various forms of medical intervention

so how can people not say it is a mental illness when it is classified as exactly that?
i dont get it

it is a mental illness and people that have it are at a higher risk of suffering from more mental illnesses.

We don't live in Cambodia, so it's not relevant.

Think of a 5 year old m/f transgender girl in kindergarten.

"Oh, I'm sorry --- you can't pee with your class. You have to be segregated. There's a gender-neutral bathroom in the teacher's lounge. If I can get someone to escort you, I will. Otherwise you're just gonna have to hold it".

This is real. This actually happens. This is why urinary tract infections are a danger to trans kids.

That is absurd. What is a 5 y/o transgender kid? Really, how do you know at that age he is transgender?
And why it has to pee separately?
What about talking to that "transgender" kid ( damn, I can't even conceive that term about a 5 y/o) and teaching him "look, those boys have a little pecker, you have a little pecker so you are all boys and all boys pee in the same toilet". Is just a kid, it will believe you.
Ever had kids with crazy ideas?

The pro-transgender advocates do not want to know, said McHugh, that studies show between 70% and 80% of children who express transgender feelings “spontaneously lose those feelings” over time. Also, for those who had sexual reassignment surgery, most said they were “satisfied” with the operation “but their subsequent psycho-social adjustments were no better than those who didn’t have the surgery.”

If a kid believes they are a dog and demands that they be allowed to pee in the schoolyard against the fire hydrant, are we going to worry about urinary tract infections, appeasement, or treatment of a mental disorder?

Transgender is a bio chemical/physical brain reality. Not a mental illness.

Or would you like to talk about my aunt who blew her brains out? Or my other aunt who was manic bi-polar and died in a mental hospital?

I can talk mental illness when it's the subject.
