I think WDumb-43 was pretty good, and you have bacon flavoring for popcorn?

Yeah, it's this awesome contraption I found at Marshalls. It has four different popcorn seasonings in separate dispensers; bacon, cheddar, sour cream & onion and taco.

Needless to say bacon is now empty.

Does this mean we can request to call New Mexico, Mexico again? Or New Spain? Or just The Land of Entrapment?

This is good. Why wouldn't we want to use the ancient name used by the people who lived there for thousands of years before we got there? Or are we so tied to that Great Ohioan Governor? LOL

Ohio can take a hike, if they want to honor McKinley so bad, do it in their own state.

Just more political bickering saying that this is barry just going around congress, congress didn't need to get involved.

Pretty much, I still don't understand why the politicians were so up in arms about keeping his name on a mountain, We (Alaskans) should rename something of theirs, But they can name whatever they want in their own state. I don't like Obama at all but I can agree with this change (even though the Interior Department changed it). Ah well give it a few more weeks and it will blow over, we will be getting flack again for getting our yearly check from the state.

Star for you... I let my self get suckered into a single op'ed that was totally disingenuous and I posted without additional research. I was 100% inaccurate and thank you for the correction and please pardon my hasten response above!

What source or site or op-ed was it that swayed you and suckered you? Just so we know for future reference.

Thanks for your openness.

Lol I don't care for obama either, but you people really just love to find any and everything he does wrong, even when his actions are just. Don't let your narrow sighted hatred get the best of you, making silly threads about something that's not really a huge national issue.

The mountain is getting its original name back, Denali. I think it's fitting. We moved our happy asses to Alaska, imposed our government and way of life upon to indigenous people, renaming whatever we saw fit, the least we can do is officially recognize a landmark that is sacred to them.

Do you think the Nepalese and Tibetans wanted to name their mountain Everest?
People that land on the moon trump those who club seals....pun intended

So every decision ever made now has to be double checked against every comparison around the world, just to make sure there is international agreement from every citizen on Earth?

You do realize how desperate you seem in your desire to attack your "commie, socialist, black president", right?

I guess I really shouldn't be surprised by the ludicrous nature of the political ranting on ATS, there are so many Americans who seem almost deranged in their political cheer leading, it really does look like a mental illness to many outside of the US.

I know this isn't a news thing but I had to post this. It's so ridiculous.

It looks like a mental illness to many inside the US as well.

Just saying.
Thanks for your feedback to the thread.

Alaska became U.S. Territory under the McKinley administration when we bought it from the Russians. That's why the name. He wasn't much of a President really. I like Denali better.

Why are they naming it after an SUV? Was that part of the bailout package?

Doesn't matter who the president is. They are all puppets.

Do i really need to start listing all the atrocities that the United States has commited that are worse than clubbing seals? I'd be here all week. Why do you care so much? Were the ashes of one of your relatives left on the mountain and you have a commerative plaque of the ceremony that you're going to have to get the engraving fixed on??

Weird thing to put so much thought and obnoxiously aggressive energy into buddy. And besides being the real name of mountain, Denali is 10,000 times better name for one of natures most breathtaking wonders than (in "clear eyes commercial dude" voice) "Mt. McKinley"...

Why is it that people seem to prefer to blame the figurehead instead of the ones with all the actual deciding power? It's rather irritating when people so woefully misunderstand the duties of the US government. Sure, he has Executive orders, the power to veto and a few groups of marines at his disposal, but he has no real power. It's stupid in my opinion.
