Last week new NASA photographs proved methane lakes exist on Saturn's moon, Titan, showing that such hydrocarbons (or so-called 'fossil fuels') are seemingly plentiful in our solar system. Cassini passes Saturn This startling discovery turns on its head the long-held western belief that petroleum is a limited resource, because it is primarily derived (we had been told) from the fossilized remains of dead dinosaurs and rotted carbon-based vegetation.

This is from a team of Swedish scientists that did not have to leave the planet to find out that we have been lied to all the time in order to keep prices high

The Russians for decades reinvested all there Oil profits in working out how to drill deeper as they always knew this and eventually worked out how to drill down to 40 thousand feet where the mineral is naturally produced this is why they have become the No 1 oil supplier in the world.

This could be the reason why Oil prices are falling, yet no announcements on the Main Stream News although that's not surprise seeing Murdoch Is a partner with one of the Rothschilds in a massive gas field in Syria and I'm pretty sure the Rockerfellers work for/with the Rothschilds in controlling most of the Oil industry

Makes you wonder why they are doing all the Fracking if Oil is a replenishable resource especially due to all the Methane and destabilising the Earths crust that fracking causes.

I am surprised no-one else has put this news on here as it does not come up on the search feature and anyway why hasn't it been made a sticky so everyone who comes onto this forum knows that the forum title is incorrect.
as well as its now a proven fact that peak oil is just a con

Ah, actually, no. That would be the United States:

U.S. surges past Saudis to become world's top oil supplier. Source

And I thought the whole abiotic oil theory had been disproved years ago.

And if you read the opening remarks from the abstract you linked you would have seen this:

There is widespread evidence that petroleum originates from biological processes1, 2, 3. Whether hydrocarbons can also be produced from abiogenic precursor molecules under the high-pressure, high-temperature conditions characteristic of the upper mantle remains an open question.

This belongs in the Hoax or LOL forums.

Check this out.... It's not just Russia.

This is a great topic for so many reasons.

We are already waiting to exploit the Arctic. Sticky hands are ready to rape, ponder, and pillage this area.

'Cold War' for Arctic resources heats up as ice melts

As the planet warms, as northern sea lanes become accessible to shippers, as companies hungrily eye vast petroleum and mineral deposits below its melting ice, a quiet, almost polite, scramble for control is transpiring in the Arctic.

"Countries are setting the chess pieces on the board. There are tremendous resources at stake," said Rob Huebert, director of the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies at the University of Calgary.

The frozen zone could hold 22 per cent of the world’s undiscovered conventional oil and natural gas resources, according to the US energy information administration.

This map contains some of Al Jazeera's past coverage on Arctic issues, laying out some of the regional ambitions of various countries.

Interestingly enough ...

(From the source aggregate site Wikipedia)

Abiogenic Petroleum Origin

The weight of evidence currently shows that petroleum is derived from ancient biomass.[14] However, it still has to be established conclusively, which means that abiogenic alternative theories of petroleum formation cannot be dismissed.[15]

[15] James G. Speight (2006), The Chemistry and Technology of Petroleum, Fourth Edition, Chemical Industries 114 (4, ilustraded ed.), CRC Press, p. 50, ISBN 9780849390678, However, it is now generally accepted, but not conclusively proven, that petroleum formation predominantly arises from the decay of organic matter in the earth. (...) Nevertheless, alternative theories should not be dismissed until it can be conclusively established that petroleum formation is due to one particular aspect of geochemistry.

Since when do hydrocarbons = oil ?

What you're missing is that methane is not oil or coal. Methane is a fairly simple molecule, CH4. I don't think anyone is arguing that there isn't abiogenic origins of methane on Earth. Petroleum exists as crude oil with differing composition of various hydrocarbons.

From How Stuff Works - How Oil Refining Works

The major classes of hydrocarbons in crude oils include:

Paraffins general formula: CnH2n+2 (n is a whole number, usually from 1 to 20) straight- or branched-chain molecules can be gasses or liquids at room temperature depending upon the molecule examples: methane, ethane, propane, butane, isobutane, pentane, hexane

Aromatics general formula: C6H5 - Y (Y is a longer, straight molecule that connects to the benzene ring) ringed structures with one or more rings rings contain six carbon atoms, with alternating double and single bonds between the carbons typically liquids examples: benzene, napthalene

Napthenes or Cycloalkanes general formula: CnH2n (n is a whole number usually from 1 to 20) ringed structures with one or more rings rings contain only single bonds between the carbon atoms typically liquids at room temperature examples: cyclohexane, methyl cyclopentane

Other hydrocarbons Alkenes general formula: CnH2n (n is a whole number, usually from 1 to 20) linear or branched chain molecules containing one carbon-carbon double-bond can be liquid or gas examples: ethylene, butene, isobutene Dienes and Alkynes general formula: CnH2n-2 (n is a whole number, usually from 1 to 20) linear or branched chain molecules containing two carbon-carbon double-bonds can be liquid or gas examples: acetylene, butadienes

It's also important to understand that there's no evidence that the precise geological processes such as those on Titan that are responsible for the formation of methane are at work or have ever been at work on the Earth (or any other body in our solar system).

Theories for abiogenic origins of petroleum are nothing new; there's even a very lengthy Wikipedia entry.

Does it really matter how oil is made when we use it up faster than its made?

The reason oil prices are high in the US, is because the FED is stealing over a dollar in taxes on every gallon. Otherwise we would only be paying around a Buck per gallon

Methane is the combination of carbon and hydrogen atoms, which can occur in many different ways.

Fossilization is only one of them. Methane can be EASILY created in any lab.

thanks to NASA’s Cassini spacecraft, energy scientists are now compelled to admit that petroleum oil is, in fact, substantially mineral in origin and occuring all through the galaxies.

NASA has not proven nor said anything - it says "energy scientists" feel compelled to comment on the likelihood of black gold being "mineral in origin" and abundant in the universe (due to their interpretation of the Casini images of HC lakes on Titan equaling lots of petroleum oil from those lakes.) and is not limited in quantities and resultant from rotten Velociraptors and T-Rex's.

No. its true...I worked in the oil fields drilling gas and oil...its never running out, the earths perpetual engine belches the stuff out faster than we can use it

Plus hydrogen comes from water, and solar from the sun, and wind from ?

I remember hearing oil comes from silicon based enzymes deep in the earth, basically they poop our oil and it is endless.
Also the earth needs these oils to keep friction at bay so it does not heat up or cool down too drastically.

I always had a problem with the term "fossilized fuels". Seriously when the gulf disaster happened we are to believe that at those depths life once existed? Dinosaurs and vegetation? Really?

And was that ever fully capped from leaking crude? Or was fukishima just another excuse when TSHF and things go bad and people want answers?

You people keep living the lie, keep on keeping on and believe all this crap and until the day it's known you are sheep with wool pulled over your eye's, or you got your head in the sand.
