Carson or Paul would seal the deal for him.

Carson, yes.

Paul (Rand not Ron) already burned his bridges, and has too much corruption in his own campaign.

Just finished watching the NFRA conference.

I still have all the same complaints but, I get it now.

I can see why Trump is doing so well, he really is making a go of it and I detected no obvious bull. I have lots of reservations about policy but, he could choose anyone, I think his VP choice is unlikely to significantly damage his popularity but, it could be a strategic enhancement if he got the right person.

So, if that is the case, I would say let's get Gary Johnson to run as his VP. He hasn't actually declared yet and he was the Governor of New Mexico.

I don't think this is a crazy idea. We can't allow another socialist into the White House and if it's a politically incorrect VP you want, who better?

Crazy as this world is and how TPTB love to distort our lives, personal feeling's, elections, ect... Leave it to the press to spin this crap I propose.

I would not be surprised if Trump picks "Rosie O'Donnel" as VP? Wouldn't that be a curve ball?

Oprah

Trump said years ago in an interview that if he ever ran he'd like Oprah as his running mate. He's now running. Maybe all she has to do is say yes. Would be quite the trip for electoral politics, for America, for race relations, and for the all around entertainment. She's probably the only one in America with a public ego as big as Trumps (she has her own magazine, and makes sure her picture is on the cover every month like some kind of full-scale unashamed narcissist).

I like Johnson but I don't see how he could be Trump's vp candidate when he has already declared that he'll be running for the Libertarian nomination. To do so he must be registered with the Libertarian party so he would have to switch back to being Republican, which would earn him the "flipper" title.

Admiral Stockdale........ Sorry could not resist.

I could see him picking his daughter actually. Keep it in the family. Someone 100% trustworthy, young, and female. Thats a trifecta

Oh the Admiral looked good on paper, the problem was when he got led out to a microphone it all fell apart.
That is probably a lesson every candidate since then has learned from.

Trump himself criticized McCain's VP pick on the grounds she energized the opposition to mount a stronger positive reaction for them than what he got out of his pick.

The VP pick is going to have journalism's dirtiest investigators crawling around every nook and cranny of their existence.
It is a chance to knock out the opponent before the election. The Donald isn't one to shy away from scrutiny and would want all the attention on himself so he can blast it right in the face with every soundbite, not relying on his VP pick to do his fighting for him. Imagine Clint just saying Make My Day to some punk reporter in attack mode and leaving it at that for The Donald to do all of the arguing.

Man the jokes are just soaring over your head.

I think he is going to try and do it with no VP, because no one is as smart and as good at what ever he does as him.

LMAO!

I think he will have a different VP every month. New famous words of the White House with Trump..... "You're Fired!!"

Donald Trump Is Appealing to "Racist" Voters, Says Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson

Doh. I also thought that he hadn't declared yet.

Well, that was an interesting idea, maybe he has changed his mind but, I doubt it.

I only considered it after watching the NFRA conference and it was really just a thought since I can't imagine another way to get a libertarian into the white house unless the American people spontaneously come to their senses.

I'll go with a Mars rock:

There's a built in "not born in America" thing. Distractions are awesome. The only problem is that the rock may actually be more intelligent than all the candidates in this election. I thought that would be funny. It turns out that it's sad.

I doubt there's much discussion going to be had.

I think Ted Cruz is angling for the job.

He'd make a lot of sense for Trump given the support Cruz has given unconditionally to the Trump campaign.

However, it would mean that you have a Northern far right winger running with a Southern far right winger, and this pick would further alienate the Republican establishment.

Trump could pick an establishment figure in order to get the Republican establishment off his back. John Kasich would be the sane choice, especially after his debate performance.

However, Trump has been long known to do the unexpected. So expect him to pick someone that NO ONE thought of.

Someone with either very strong political connections or very strong military connections would be a smart VP choice for someone with neither.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a choice completely out of left field. Someone like General Stanley McChrystal.

General MCChrystal was known for being outspoken and not afraid to say what everyone else was thinking, even when it wasn't popular. He's also currently teaching International Relations at Yale so would be an outstandingly diplomatic Vice President, a good foil to the complete disaster of foreign policy that would be a Trump Presidency. He was a commander of JSOC for a few years, so would have both good political and military connections. He would sail through confirmation hearings.

He'd also hold true to the "Make American Great Again" theme and would help project American military power around the world.

He would also offset any criticism that Trump may get about not serving, would be hugely popular with veterans, and would bring Veterans issues to the forefront as a campaign issue.

He's also on the board of arms dealers, which would make him popular with the 2nd Amendment gun crowd.

and for the all around entertainment

Yeah, you caught my drift. His actions accent the circus of present day culture as does Oprah's mindless popularity. And when you point out her ego, you nailed my thinking on the head. What a pair.

With the expanding farce of current politics it has been on my mind for a while that one day soon the American public would be clamoring around complete baffoons and when Trump didn't die off in the first week or so I began thinking of popular buffoon to join him and Oprah seemed a fitting consort.
