Wouldn't that help either the republicans or the democrats if they went independent, i would of loved to see sanders and ron paul run together, it might have attracted enough people who want a smaller government.

Just my .02 cents, if I were supporting Bernie for the Democratic nomination, and I was told this early on that Hillary already has the nomination, I'd be leaving the Dem's very quickly. It is ludicrous for Hillary to claim she has the nomination locked up, and not see how her statement is going to fracture the party.

An independent stands as good of a chance as a party nominee in the current political environment. Perot ran at the wrong time in history, but now is the time when many may be looking for an alternative. I sure am, and many I've talked to are as well.

If the Dem's continue with the line that Hillary has the nomination all sewed up, and the GOP keeps stumbling all over each other, we could very well see new parties rising from the fray. It's about high time.

He's running as a Democrat. He doesn't want to split the party's vote.

So he's a Democrat, not an Independent.
