Global warming...Yet in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, they have had snow this week! (pictures via Google) so what is going on?
Plus snow piles in Buffalo, NY were still waiting to melt last month, and snow in Scotland.(waiting to melt).

Meanwhile the west coast of the USA is burning and Alaska is having the hottest summer ever recorded.

When the planet warms, it creates erratic weather patterns, hotter in some places, colder in others in ever increasing intensity if I understand it correctly. Kind of like a pendulum swing, it will swing both ways wider and wider.

If it happens naturally of course there's nothing we can do... but it's not. We should be mildly cooling right now heading into our next slow glaciation. The warming is artificial, completely out of sink with normal cycles.

2.3 millimeters a year is what was mentioned in the same article. So how does 430 yrs for 1 meter equal 100yrs or as soon as a decade? NASA can't math

NASA says not to worry about the snowball, it is going to melt anyway.

Let me see if I follow, we are forestalling an ice age and this is a bad thing?

She said we should be mildly cooling and going into a slow glaciation which takes thousands of years.

You jump straight to ice age.

I know you disagree with MMGW, but I also know you are capable of an intellectual conversation.

It is not that I disagree with it, I just find the hysteria laughable. It is always 'we've past the tipping point', 'it's inevitable' and this s*** has been going on for a long time. Do I have an issue with gradually moving to alternative fuels? Nope. Am I leery that this is a big money making scheme for some powerful doom-porners? Yup.

As for the 'mild glaciation', I do not want that either, warmer weather is better for society.

a reply to: lostbook By any chance, do you have a map of what the world would look like if the sea levels rose 3 feet?

Practically speaking, it's the same world... the one we are in right now, the one where cyclonic low pressure storms can draw the ocean upwards 2 to 8 feet for hours at a time as its center passes nearby... with 20 foot battering waves on top of that.

I've been in two direct hits by Cat 5 hurricanes (Hugo and Marilyn and you might think that would make me more sensitive to these claims and feel empathy to the imaginary 'victims' alluded in these studies. Actually, the opposite. Any one near the coast who is not prepared for cyclone or tsunami condition far exceeding the worst of these 'projections' at this very minute is at worst, a stupid fool. At best, you're more like myself (or the Hawaiians with their volcano) who are in awe of all Earthly extremes (beauty too!) and remain awake enough to prepare and yet, know when to run like hell with the clothes on your back. And when it does happen... accept these natural phenomena (and the consequences of choices you have made in living there) without whine or blame.

NASA/NOAA with their statistically fake 'hottest year' news bites and model based inch by inch sea level scenarios is pandering and feeding climate hysteria of the very worst kind, beyond stupid because it is willful. They are trying to convince people that the planet is some sort of invariable Garden of Eden. The day James Hansen left NASA was as momentous an occasion as the day of the moonwalk. Unfortunately others still remain and must be rooted out. Give people like that your support and not a single wall will be strengthened, not a single practical or reasonable preparation or improvement to life will be made.

or......because of the extremes that could come with climate change, your house could be hit by a rain of 3" hailstones for hours, or, 2" an hour of rain, for hours on end, or, super tornados, super hurricanes, traveling far inland into the southern states. tropical diseases that normally are located south of you, becoming common. hundreds of thousands of square acres of crops being wiped out by weeks of long deep freezes.....but, you might have to wait awhile for that beachfront property

Oooooh, more doom-pornography of the most epic type. That is like a mash up of those banal Sci-Fi Channel movies like Cat-6, F-7, Sharknado, The Day after Yesterday and Yentl all rolled into one.

Utterly refuted even though it's been confirmed by thousands of scientists...

Or are they all paid off by the evil socialists?!

You're so misinformed it's embarrassing. Log off.

1000s of scientists have confirmed the economic validity of totalitarian socialism?

Is this going to be like when they said there would be an increase in hurricanes and severity, several years ago?

Yes, but you see, Climate Change means that predictions become unpredictable.

just because it doesn't happen in your backyard, doesn't mean it didn't happen in other parts of the world.....that's like the nutty republican senator bringing a snowball in April to the senate, holding it up. and saying "whars that globah wam'n nawh"....somehow forgetting that the earth actually has a southern hemisphere with opposite climate

Everyone says this but honestly would you want to swim in that water? Eat the fish out of that water? For me to have ocean front property, Downtown Boston would have to be under water... including all the hospitals (waste) sewers (gross!) etc...

No thanks!

Have you looked beyond Atlantic hurricanes? Typhoons and cyclones (same thing as hurricanes) have picked up as well as Pacific hurricanes.

geology.com...

A website where you can see the impact of sea level rise.

Can someone let me know when it's safe to take off my water wings?
