This is pretty shocking, if you're anti Trump and chose to dismiss his chances.

People are fed up.

They're tired of politicians. They're looking so hard for an "every man" candidate, that Trump looks like a saint compared to the current crop of contenders from both sides.

Did you see all the latest polls ?

Yes I did. What do you think the polls will look like around Xmas. If you can believe poll by the MSM, I don't, they change often.

It's also strange how the Right supports polls when it jibes with their ideology but discounts them when they don't.

Trump is going to disappoint a lot of old men. I got some green money to bet....want some of this action?

It's theater amigo, scripted, with plot twists and a surprise ending...you'll see.

Even though the ending has been bought and paid for...

This is two months on top for Trump.

If they polish Trump up a little. If he survives on top till Christmas.

What my liberal friends are still not quite comprehending.

Is...People are pissed. Not just throw your hands in the air pissed.

They are its time to kick some serious ass pissed...

We aren't dismissing his chances. I'm in fact recognizing his chances and that is why I'm so worried for the Republican party here. If you guys actually let Trump get the GOP nomination, kiss the Presidency goodbye for four more years.

You get it!

This is the truth.

Pissed off is 100% accurate.

I watched his Greenville SC "rally" today. Minimal applause....some vocalizations that were hard to discern between as to "groan" or "yeah"......

I even took some notes.

Toward the end, he slipped in a Freudian manner:

And I quote:

We are going to make this company -----

He was then interrupted, and yelled 'what?' at some inaudible audience member (heh - inaudible audience) and then corrected himself to say

We are going to make this country -----(great again)!

After all, he's going to build a huge wall of concrete with underground protection to prevent tunnelling, and it will be SPECTACULAR (because he is so great (and nice!) and really nice and rich)!

American veterans are going to LOVE him!!! He gets impatient if he has to wait 10 seconds to see a doctor!!! He's going to fix all of that, because they're all stupid anyway, and throwing money at something is all the Dems know how to do!! But he's gonna fix it.

Oh...and...People have told him he needs to change his 'tone' (he used quotey fingers). Someone told him he wasn't very nice, and he said to her, basically, that not-nice people are who we need to have in charge.

He suggested sending 2,300 (precisely that number) armored Humvees to our 'allies' in the Middle East, for crying out loud!! He's going to build up the military with so much stuff and people (because, he said, he is "militaristic") to be the most awesome, impenetrable, unbeatable military ON EARTH!!! And then, of course, never use it. Because it would be obvious not to mess with us.

(That's what he said. I heard it. With my own ears. )

He also ordered 400 Samsung televisions, and was appalled to see a huge ship, huger than he'd ever seen ever!, with millions of Japanese cars on them....

Oh and he also says that he's Great! And Nice! And all the negotiators all over the world just LOVE him! And he's Rich! And super-duper really Nice!

I think you're wrong.

He'll win if he gets the nomination, with support from people you'd never suspect.

I have a gut feeling, the same feeling I had that Obama would win, despite me not wanting him to. Not saying I'm psychic or anything, but it's just a strong feeling of inevitability.

Never underestimate the power of people who've had enough.

That's what's scary. His rhetoric is so blatantly empty and clearly designed to cater these people in a specific way. Of course the response is always, "people are pissed off!" Well actually the people who are pissed off are the ones who have been listening to right wing talk radio telling them to be pissed off at every little strawman they concocted over the last 8 years about the left. Yet they don't realize that most people in the country aren't as pissed off as they think they are.

Oh great, never mind the fact that Trump polls negative 40 points among the Hispanic vote and the Hispanic vote is CRUCIAL to winning the Presidency these days, YOUR gut says somehow that problem will be magically overcome. You need to get away from the Trump rhetoric for a bit. Go reread my OP and debunk some of those statistics, then maybe I'd believe you.

This must be a very depressing thread for our Right Wing conservative members.

The problem with just listening to AM Rush bots and Fox, is that it's a distorted view of reality. Scripted to appeal to a narrow demographic, boost ratings and sell stuff to scared old people. The world has changed around them but they still hopefully cling to the Amos and Andy 50s. Sad, so sad....

I work with some young savy republicans with fresh ideas but they are constantly shot down by the old guard that aren't even hip to a smart phone or tablet. Memos on sticky notes. sheesh....

I guess it would be depressing to a group that posters have tagged with the following descriptors: "crazy bastards", ignorant right-wingers", "idiotic dinosaurs", "party of losers", "a despicable bunch of morons", and on and on. These monikers were posted by self avowed left-leaning members, and while seen as truthful or apt, are pretty coarse coming from the side of the debate that prides itself on tolerance. Whether I agree or not isn't the issue, but I have read few posts vilifying the left side with the same vehemence.

Point being, there are many voters who don't identify with Republicans, yet oppose the liberal agenda/progressive ideology. This disenfranchised group is being painted with a broad brush by the left, and lumped in with their nemesis. This is a mistake by the left, and will bite them on the backside in the future. Just as antiquated thinking by Pubs alienate our youth, the left dismissing the former will alienate an entire voting block.

Not true.

I'm in the middle and I support him.

He's the only non establishment candidate in the bunch, and the first one in years maybe even ever, to spark so much public interest.

I like his brashness. I like that he doesn't pander to anyone. I like that he isn't afraid to alienate a lobbyist, because he doesn't need them.

He's a breath of fresh air in what has otherwise become the frustratingly divisive politics of today.

He at least speaks his mind, without thinking "Wait, i can't say that because so and so will stop giving me money!" He has no filter.

He's leading for those reasons. It's simple really, people are tired of politics as usual.

Another point for Trump which I had not really addressed. He is going to carry a great deal of the less informed, casual voters simply due to personality dynamics. He is an alpha male. People are naturally attracted to strong leaders unless they are indoctrinated to reject such things. This is especially important when comparing him to the other candidates, whose actions and words are decided by committee, whose temperaments are designed to be as inoffensive as possible. The other Republicans are afraid to talk about the issues that matter to many people because of a fear of being offensive. Hilary refuses to engage in events that are not strictly controlled and will be impaled in debates where she can't refuse to talk about her illegal actions. Bernie has been bullied by the belligerent blacklivesmatter buffoons. Biden is the only potential candidate that could stand toe to toe with Trump.

When people don't care deeply about politics or platforms, they will decide based on instinct (if they even vote). Trump is the only candidate not being pushed around by committees, skeletons in closets or random hecklers. He projects an image of power, control and masculinity. This is another circumstance that will draw some black and latino voters to his side. While leftists narratives have devalued those traits in white culture, minorities still retain their reverence for strength. Of course, whites untouched by leftist corruption will also value a strong candidate over a weak one.

The very factors which had stacked the deck in favor of the left are now becoming hazards that can turn the populace rightward again. If it happens once, the left will be crushed forever. The increasingly socialist and globalist policies of the post-WWII era have done nothing but tear at the fabric of society. For a time, people were distracted by the increase in material wealth which accompanied the modern era, but the destruction of the middle class is making it harder and harder for people to fail to notice the fraying strands that bind the country together. One term with a strong nationalist, conservative candidate will put out all doubt from the minds of the people. They'll see that it wasn't just the corruption and special interest politics dragging down the country, but also the subversion of morals leaking out from liberal academia.

Ricky Martin says "Trump makes my 'blood boil' "

Ricky Martin is calling on Hispanics to unite together against Donald Trump, saying the GOP presidential candidate’s “absurd, incoherent, and ignorant comments” make his “blood boil.”

“From the beginning, [Trump’s] intent has been clear: To basically tell lies and offend us to stay in the public spotlight,” the Puerto Rican-born “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer writes in a blistering op-ed on Fusion.net published Wednesday night.

But.....wait - the minorities are going to love him. Right?

Do you have a source for this claim? Also, care to address any of the points I brought up in the OP?

No disrespect to you, because you seem quite devoted...but Bernie Sanders seriously doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning. Even Biden will quickly out pace him as soon as he gets in.

I know you'd like him to win, but it just ain't going to happen. This country will never elect an openly socialist President.
