They just released a memo from the news station. I want to see the 23 page manifesto from the killer who is already dead. I want hear his thoughts, why he did it. This isn't a 2 page manifesto. It's 23 pages. The suspect is dead.

Release the manifesto.

I'm trying to understand why only 4-5 quotes have been released from a 23 PAGE MANIFESTO.

23 pages. 4-5 quotes? Does not compute.

So far, not all of it was quoted yet but here's what some of it it alludes to:

He says he has been attacked by black men and white females
He talks about how he was attacked for being a gay, black man
He says has suffered racial discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying at work
A source with direct knowledge of his complaints against the station said a pair of tweets sent today and attributed to him accurately reflect previous complaints he lodged against the two people he killed today.

These are the two Tweets: “Alison made racist comments,” and, “Adam went to hr on me after working with me one time!!!”

More shared... from the ABC source.

Also from those,

Later in the manifesto, the writer quotes the Virginia Tech mass killer, Seung Hui Cho, calls him “his boy,” and expresses admiration for the Columbine High School killers. “Also, I was influenced by Seung–Hui Cho. That’s my boy right there. He got NEARLY double the amount that Eric Harris and Dylann Klebold got…just sayin.'"

Would guess because of worry for "copy cat" etc., type responses of this.

He faxed his manifesto to the news station? Who the hell faxes anything these days... He's on the run but has time to stop and fax something? Where was it sent from? I'd like to see the timeline of events.....

you fax from your smart phone with the entry of 10 numbers and the push of a button.

Shows how tech savvy I am.. I had no idea you could do that. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

This is worth a read

Which policies could reduce the huge number of mass killings in the US are not a mystery: after 35 people were killed in Tasmania in 1996, Australia’s conservative government enacted sweeping gun control measures. The result was that both homicides and suicides by gun were immediately and sharply reduced, and there have been no mass killings in the country since. Conversely, there have been 885 mass killings in the United States since December 2012, when a gunman killed 20 elementary school students at the Newtown Elementary School in Sandy Hook, Connecticut.

It's true that gun violence in the United States is excessively high.

A lack of federal gun control is certainly a large part of the problem of the toll of gun violence. But other policies and social conditions – most obviously high levels of economic and racial inequality – also play a major role, and both are also the result of political choices.

The treatment of the mentally-ill is pretty abhorent as well, and I will go so far as to say that the United States is a sick society. Unfortunately, we will see more of these incidents, it seems.

not as high of a percentage as you believe.

federal gun control is about the only kind there is.
BATFE job is to enforce those laws.
there are about 25,000 federal gun laws.

cnsnews.com...

problem is they are not enforced.
there is a mandatory 10 year sentence if a felon tries to buy a gun.
each month about 5000 felond are denied the purchase of a firearm due to IBC.
but no one charges them with a crime and prosecutes them.

So we've gone from "they were blanks anybody can see that" to "where are the casings" to "what I really mean is its a squib gun."

Sorry, done with chasing goalposts.

I won't chase anything except the nonsensical, noble Celt. This
magic blank theory is a small distraction from the tragedy and
misplaced... but I'll add my .02 later.

Makes me no less sad about today.
A couple of good people died for no other reason than this self-
absorbed meatstick didn't have the decency to do just the one
who deserved it. It took a little while in painfully similar circum-
stances of my own to realize I'm not worth killing, much less anyone
else.

Back and gratefully to the emotionless reality of science.
Better late than never, but some third grade math for you and
the god guy. It bites at me that somebody believes a video camera
should be able to pick up a slug going supersonic. Here's why the
chances are slim you'll ever see a single frame with a bullet in it,
even at 2560 pixels width a frame (also don't matter):

Gun make or bullet size irrelevant, it's muzzle FPS = 1100... check.
Even a high quality camera; 29.97 fps (oh the irony FRAMES) = check.
So if I've arbitrarily nine feet of bullet path there's only a 25% chance
the bullet will even show up on the way, because 1100/about 30 = 36 2/3 ft.

Look like we might have let that one slip by this frame too. next. NOT.
Even if we could zoom the graininess like Keyhole to get the autographs,
the projectile is already out to pasture. Just had to get it off my chest.

I just have to say thank you everyone who has added information to this thread.
It is a sad tragedy, and I knew more about it by reading this thread than I did watching national news during the first few hours.
That is one of the reasons why I love ATS.

0.2% of American murders been mass shootings is a small percentage there's no denying that. But a small percentage of a very high number is still a lot of mass shootings, correct me if I'm wrong but America has the highest amount mass shootings on the planet.

So we have another bloodless crime starring Alison Robbie Parker.
As super woman for WDBJ7 taking two extremely close range
slugs. From judging by the recoil a 9mm semi auto and defying
the knock down power associated with that calibur weapon.
In fact, she just kept running right on out of the G-D picture.

Why do we have crimes like this that look so hokey?
Could it be because they are?

Just my little critique.

Simply because real life isn't a movie. And that's all there is to it.

I don't wish to add flame to the hoax narrative.. but something is wrong.

If my GF was shot and killed mere hours earlier (and i've lost a few folks so im used to death.. sadly) I'd be a mess.

what i wouldn't be doing is blandly standing in front of the cameras, adding calmly to the emotional narrative.. even if i managed to get my crap together for the camera's i'd be choking up.. almost ALL of us would be. The shock alone would come in waves.. like it does.. no one's that "calm" after their fiancee has just been killed.. on camera

So.. what's up with that? they have some new anti-human drug that numbs all the feels away now?

They haven't shown the father here yet.. and im not about to go looking, but it's been stated that interview was rather strange as well.

Sorry.. really i am.. but that's just plain weird.. and spins this whole thing on it's head.

I'm with the general consensus that the guy was a nut, black or white, just a plain
old angry human.

The only "hokey" thing that struck me, not really hokey but when viewing both videos, both cameras appear to drop around the same time. Like in synchronicity. Like both videos start in a similar point (the POV starting maybe 2 seconds earlier) then the shooting and both cameras essentially stop recording. Just threw me a bit.

Other than that I'm pleased he didn't film the rest.

Your little critique? Sounds as if you are used to more bloody ego shooters.
These were real people in the real world and now they are dead.
Maybe the next crazy idiot reads your "little critique" and tries to do it better.

I wish people wouldn't use this tragedy as a weapon for their political views.
We have the pro gun crowd already automatically thinking it is fake just because they fear someone wants there guns.....
Just stop.
So it didn't look like a movie? no blood and gore....welcome to real life.
Horrid thing to happen maybe have respect for the truth and the dead eh?.
A nut shot people because he was bat # insane.
