Well, how could that have been that easy?

First shipping and given the know how and then of course the official story, soviet spies stole it. Can't be hard really making some spies believe they really stolen some very important information, which where already given to the USSR. Of course if the latter is true of course you ain't gonna tell the public.
But this guy who worked at and helped design, nuclear power plants for creating material for making nuclear bombs (& a WWI vet who fought against Japan) found out this material/plutonium and know-how where shipped to Russia..

ok not really about how to make nukes (although that also may have been given, I don't buy this spy crap with such important matters really), but the material for making Nukes and how to make this with Power Plants (& the designs from Nuclear Power Plants).

The first nuclear reactor was powered up in 1942 and became part of the Manhattan Project.

One of the things I remember clearly being told over and over was that the history is written by the winners.

An old canard, oft repeated - by those who what you to think history is wrong.

But the reality is that whilst it may have been true 2,000 years ago, these days history is written by archaeologists and historians from all nations and all backgrounds, irresepective of who won.

The only exception being in some extreme authoritarian nations where only state accepted history is permitted. North Korea, for example.

You cannot make a bomb out of only cobalt 60, it is not capable of becoming supercritical.

I have witnessed "first hand" the detonaton of both U S and "foriegn" nuclear tests.

Which is the point I was trying to make. The casing needs to be irradiated for it to have any major affect. You cannot build a nuclear device solely with cobalt 60.
