Right. And the larger the object, the more likely it would be found further in advance, even if (at times) it was coming from the direction of the Sun as seen from Earth.

That's because as the Earth orbits the Sun, we can see all of the areas that were "behind the Sun" at a different time during the orbit. The area of space that is in the direction of the sun this month is not the same area of space that was in the direction of the sun last month, or next month.
