Hearing the first sound my baby made was magic, not noise. Nor was it speech.

Her first word was "light." I taught it to her.

I'm sure you understand the point i was making.
Noise is a double-edged sword.
It can be magical.
And it can make your ears bleed.

In an aesthetic sense, it is indeed, in the ears of the beholder.
But there is a scientific definition of noise. Not so of magic.

What were people like before that damned TV came along? all the cop shows, stupid situation comedies, agenda driven news, war films and programs, really stupid adverts, or stupid males in the adverts, the private lives of people being famous just for be famous, I watch MSN just to see if it has court up with the netnews, One thing caught my eye yesterday, an air crash in England where a Hawker Hunter jet crashed, Sky called it a WW 2 fighter!

Better yet, what were people like before most became literate and had to remember stuff instead of just writing it down?

I can appreciate your approach randyvs,

Randy will work.

Like I can say the same thing

I realise that, but you're not.

Prove it. Has anyone ever had a death prognosis of "bad soul"? Soul failure? Cancer of the soul?

And I'm being chidish?
What I meant when I said,

If we lacked a soul we wouldn't even be alive.

is that we would lack all the afore mentioned non tangible attributes,
that only exist in the material world, thru the soul of man. How fitting
that you would choose to spell it backwards. But if we had no soul none
of those things would exist? How far would we go without love? We
wouldn't even be alive with out love. You can only be wrong.

Nothing philosophical, just common sense.

She wouldn't stop.
Ceiling light; "light"
Street light; "light"
Stop light; "light"

I dug the hell out of it.

One of my earliest memories is my dad teaching me the difference between night and light. Just thought I'd share.

On topic, the world has been pretty messed up the last few years but it started a long long time before 2012.

I also taught her to "read". At least, I got her to understand why letters had sounds.
That was pretty bitchin too.

Fourth dimension to enslave, reading how to enforce it freely.

What you see as science and progress i see as religion and a new dogma.

Gosh. That's deep.
What does it have to do with memory, writing, or freedom?

We had symbolism once, you made your own philosophy you just got a direction or simple virtues. In your mind you built your own imagination of everything, neither right or wrong. Most important was that you lived, first alphabet came with the invention of time and logistics.
The symbolics changed into writings, the writings into dogma, everyone learned the same thing. Instead of seasons you learned a clock. A clocks only justification is warfare.
Time is enslavement, the writings teaches a dogma.

Humans are very dumb, you cannot specialize more than just one field.( Always an exception) you are smart enough to do you job, but dumb enough so you dont understand the basics.

To me randy, your problem appears to be separating fantasy from reality. Funny how when I apply what you said, you say I'm being childish. How do you know we would lack any of those things without a "soul"? You don't. You just can't accept the fact that you don't know so you are willing to make up something to fill that void. That doesn't make it right. It just means you have chosen to believe something that only exists in your imagination and then tell others they are wrong for not believing what you have made up in your mind. Bad tactic. This is seriously like debating a child about Santa Claus, or the Easter Bunny, or the Tooth Fairy. You can't see them, but it's real. There's no proof, but it's real. That's why this debate is childish.

You can only be wrong.

Prove me wrong then. Since it's common sense, it should be easy. First you'll have to show some sort of evidence of a soul. And by evidence, that doesn't mean something that exists in your mind but not in reality. You don't know what causes any of the attributes you mentioned and neither do I. The difference is I'm not willing to make up some imaginary thing and say "there it is. I'm right and you're wrong. Common sense." Do you even know what common sense means? Because actual common sense tells us the opposite. Common sense .... sheesh. It's your claim, so prove it.
