Well, if they hadn't failed they would be here wouldn't they?

They are "here".

Thousands of them.

We surround Them.

What, because laissez faire didn't take care of all the people cradle to grave????

No, because it doesn't exist.

Progressives and monopolistic corporations have seen to it, but that doesn't stop progressives from railing about it...ad nauseum even on this site. Many people on the Left seem to confuse oligopoly corporatism for true laissez faire competitive free market.

As said, anti-intellectual ... and its corollary, anti-science.

You prove the point perfectly.

"Get 'er dun! Wooo! Jesus' gonna come back before the world ends and take us all away!"

One can only hope. Pray even.

Libertarians believe in taxes.

Not "genuine" ones. You must be one of those lefty type libertarians.

How is that not failing?

"Hey man, sorry you lost the game."

"We didn't loose. The other team just didn't let us score more than them."

Ok, that makes it different.

If you notice, I'm no longer arguing with you, I'm ridiculing you for the clueless numbskull you seem intent on being.

Libertarians believe in taxes, even the Right-sided ones.

Many Genuine Conservatives don't.

That's one difference.

I've seen libertarians say the exact opposite. Of course to them members of the Libertarian Party are not genuine libertarians.

Still, Mussolini was against Communists and Socialists.

I've seen Fascists that say the exact opposite.

Worse yet, I've seen Fascists (or ones that say they are Fascists) do the exact opposite.

The Libertarian Platform is Interesting

Some authoritarian policies exist, but apparently limited.

Are you the one labeling them Fascists? C'mon be honest.

I don't care what the LP platform is. Neither do real libertarians.

Teikiatsu has noted on several occasions the number of stars their posts received, as some sort of proof.

I've done what? When? I hope you just confused me with someone else, otherwise you are just plain lying and slandering.

I've been here a whole week. If I've said such a thing it should be easy to find those 'several occasions.'

Seriously Gryphon. Prove yourself or correct yourself and apologize or I'm lodging a complaint.

It's one thing to lob jabs back and forth at each other in an active discussion. It's another to attack someone's character with lies when they aren't even involved in the conversation.

I don't expect you to like me or agree with me. I do expect honesty and integrity.

omg could I do something with that!!! How about for starters the leftist "fact" that Climate Science is "settled". Instead let's call this what it really is, Manufactured consensus for the purpose of installing a political dictate or agenda, that is taxation of resources for World Government and/or subsidizing those things which the political left deem important, such as developing alternative energy technology. Nowhere in their debate are they willing to confront the obvious conflict of interest with their other assorted and sundry issues such as animal rights....I mean Carly Fiorina rightly pointed out that Progressives are ignoring the millions of birds including protected species like the eagle flying into the blades of wind turbines. She also mentions how stretches of wind turbines mark up and occupy huge swaths of land. Ever drive by a large wind farm? There's a huge one in Kansas you can see from the highway. Oh and Senator Kennedy didn't want one in his playground.

Jeremy Clarkson once drove to the magnetic North Pole in an SUV. During the winter.

Perhaps you should try it during the summer, if the globe ain't really warming. Should be fine.

It is amusing that one would throw up a completely off-topic statement as a boogeyman. Doesn't speak so well for your logic, though.

What, really? Talk about taking liberties with the lack of restriction you perceive in this particular forum.... major secular humanist ridicule against Christians. I don't happen to subscribe to this particular concept, if that is what you were implying. I do not subscribe to vicarious atonement or pre-trib or Christian socialism(which by it's nature tends to apply more to democrats anyway). I also do not support the watering down of religion by the UN World Council of Churches, and I do not, repeat I do NOT intend to meditate in a room like this... www.un.org...

Where did those thoughts come from?

So back to the topic, where would you place the Fascist ideology on the straight line spectrum?

Would Fascism be closer to Communism/Socialism or closer to Libertarianism?

It is 100 per cent on topic considering people here are defining fascism as the marriage between government and corporations. Government dictating to corporations and subsidizing corporate entities it deems good is all part of that. Too bad you cannot see it. It is odd to me that the very same people who seem to have such hatred for corporations have no trouble with government using them for their own ends.

Well, I have read what libertarianism is and you just told me some of what LP ideals and since they don't match up then obviously they are not the same.

When I say libertarianism I mean just that. Not the light version which, seems to me, the place where you get the idea that rural america is lebertarian.

So back to the topic, where would you place the Fascist ideology on the straight line spectrum?

I wouldn't.

The straight line spectrum is BS and I'm pretty sure you know this. You are just yanking chains with this entire thread.

Would Fascism be closer to Communism/Socialism or closer to Libertarianism?

I'm not even sure what you mean by libertarianism.

On the x/y chart it would be far right on the x axis.

One obvious problem with the "test" is it's based on questions directed at individuals.

Kinda like an oxymoron.

Fascism thrives on authoritarianism and collectivism not individualism.

Good article though.

Where would Libertarians (in general) fit on your scale?

What would be to their Left and Right?
