This article claims Fascism is a far "Left Wing" ideology, not "Right Wing" as many believe and is widely taught and accepted.

They base this notion on levels of coercion and authoritarian practices necessary to get to and maintain the goals and objectives.

Kinda makes some sense and seems to go against the grain of the standard "academic" teachings.

This issue has come up many times in various political discussions with valid points for and against the idea.

In particular, the story is including American Democrats and Republicans on their "spectrum".

I agree the coercion and authoritarianism levels are one way to look at most political/social classifications.

It's all about who benefits the most and who suffers from the laws and policies.

Fascism Is Far Left, Not Far Right on Political Spectrum

There are many logical incongruities that are maintained on a populist level, especially when it comes to politics. Not least of these is the composition of the political spectrum in identifying ideologies and systems of governance. The most common fallacy is identifying fascism as a right-wing ideology, even though its ideological roots originate in the left-wing extremist models of communism and socialism.

Political-Spectrum-Essentialized6The most pervasive political spectrum is loosely based on a left/right orientation, and attempts to place political models somewhere along the continuum. But for a political spectrum to have any meaningful representation, it must be based on some set of absolute values. Since every system of governance has unique characteristics, those can hardly be used for the absolute reference points from which to measure.

Since a spectrum is in fact a continuum, the absolute extremes must be established, so that all variations and deviations from those extremes can be accurately charted. For example, light and dark, heat and cold, the band of waves of the electromagnetic spectrum, all measure from one extreme to the other. So it is with the political spectrum. Since governments establish order based on the regulation of the activities of the members of their respective societies, the correct extremes for the political spectrum delineate the degree of individual freedom allowed. And traditionally that has been demarcated as left to right; least freedom, to most freedom; totalitarianism to anarchy.

Well ?

So this just proves what I've been saying all along.

American Conservatives ( for the most part) are just dressed up liberals.

Sounds about right.

Do you have a source other than the Conservative Daily News?

Well what if the country accepts leftist policies with no force needed?

Or reject the policies of the right and it has to resort to force to enforce?

The guy is welcome to his opinion, but would disagree that Fascism is of the left.
The left isn't die hard nationalist like it would take for Fascism.

Man if only we could have stayed within this self appointed founders goal of the conservatives of 2011!

Did this guy take a poll of the founding fathers to figure that out?

As an independent I have to agree with this article and Xuenchen. Maybe not so much the left wing, or even extreme left wing of 20+ years ago. However, over the last decade I have seen a huge transformation of the left, and it scares the crap out of me.

I agree whole heartedly.

Think about the socialist utopia that was put into practice.
Full blown socialism, unapologetic socialism,
look it up, it was called National Socialism.

The politically correct garbage that twists the truth
is also a form of thought and speech control.
This thought and speech control are championed by
the left.

Anytime someone tells a truth
that the left doesn't like,
suddenly the person is attacked
and viciously attacked
as a racist, or anti-woman, or
a homophobe, or a bigot.

The vicious attack on the person
and the attempts to destroy the
person's livelihood for saying
something the left doesn't like
is pervasive and all encompassing
in the US today.

I believe one can say there is a deep
problem in inner city ghettos
with black youths killing
each other at an alarming rate,
without being a racist, because it is true.

I believe one can say that gays should
not force people to do things against
their religious values, without being
homophobic. Because it is true.
The florist that was persecuted by the
gay community employed many gay
people in her shop, if she was
a homophobe would she have gay
people working for her, no.

I believe one say say that Middle Eastern
Muslim immigrants bring with them
cultural values of misogyny and
hate for people not like themselves,
without being a a bigot toward all
Muslims. Because it is the truth.

Now I await all the people who will
call me racist, homophobic and a bigot.
I am not, but there will be many many
of the leftist truth deniers who are so
into thought and speech control that
they will jump into a politically
correct diatribe at what I have said.

Like Trump, I don't care, the truth is the truth.

Grow up and deal with it, I'm tired of
leftist fascism parading as progressiveism.

I for one am sick and tired of it.

It isn't Fascism in the typical sense. Fascism has a lot of different definitions/variations and has changed over time. However, the overall fascist mentality does represent the current far left very well.

Just look at our universities as an example. Ever heard of Vindictive Protectiveness? Read this article if you get a chance.

That 'truth' is usually rather opinionated.
Like of course the current champion trump, he is not speaking absolute facts, rather just his opinion on things.

And people can't seem to take criticism anymore without calling the whambulance and screaming PC police brutality.

Your source is The Conservative Daily News and you feel as though they will have an unbiased look into fascism???

What a surprise they view the Left as Fascist and not the Right. After all, the angels on the Right never lie about anything so these guys should be totally trust worthy.

Come on man.....

Except there is no laws about forcing people to do that.
We can disagree that practices are not good, but no one is forcing them to do it.

You can make claims that the mentality goes to both sides.

My bet this thread will just further show how liberal this site has become and the lengths the mods go to silence all those that disagree with it!

Sarcasm of course.

Well when the laws aren't there, the idea is to have trial by social media/MSM. That or people will be punished simply for not thinking a certain way or going along with what is PC.

I appreciate the reply, but seriously read that article...at least part of it. It isn't partisan in any way other than that it might scare the crap out of you and make you a bit depressed.
