Ah yah I never said I was for enslaving anyone I said the guy has a point about how we are enslaved by the system. I think it sounds like he is being dramatic in proving a point but I have yet to finish checking the interview. We are truly all endslaved by the one world system being set up by the power elite.

Erm, you must not know many 'left wing' sites then. And only Bill O'Reilly thinks that Media Matters is massively left wing, as it keeps pointing out his mistakes, which obviously makes it wrong in his eyes.

The guy who started Media Matters was apparently on the wrong side too and decided Democrat leftism was his thing instead of conservatism. It happens.

Well if he really does mean it that would be horrible of course. However, I will say that I think we are all slaves of the State and becoming more so day by day. I'm sorry that so many people who think they are fighting for liberties are often the very ones calling on the State to become our Master.

Revisiting this because it became relevant again yesterday.

Mike Huckabee appeared on this idiots radio show and the subject of slavery came up again. This time not for illegal aliens, but for criminals.

Host Jan Mickelson said the modern criminal justice system has been “taken over by progressives,” and said punishment should be modeled instead of the Bible’s Old Testament Book of Exodus.

“It says, if a person steals, they have to pay it back two-fold, four-fold. If they don’t have anything, we’re supposed to take them down and sell them,” he said.

It’s better that prisoners be indentured so that they must “spend their time not sitting on their stump in a jail cell — they’re supposed to be working off debt… Wouldn’t that be a better choice?” Mickelson asked.

“Well, it really would be,” Huckabee responded. “Sometimes the best way to deal with a nonviolent criminal behavior is what you just suggested.”

A man running for the office of President of the United States in 2015 AD... A man who openly makes his "Christian" beliefs the defining characteristic of his campaign - is openly advocating for, at best, indentured servitude for criminals and, at worse, literal slavery.

Now bear in mind that even imprisoning people for debt is illegal in the US. These men seem to want to jump that and go straight to chattel slavery again. Amazing.

In the same conversation Huckabee also said that he believes in jailing people he is "afraid of". Talk about a highly misguided slippery slope. Very Stalinesque of you there Milke.

There was a time when I actually liked Huckabee outside his political leanings for reasons I can't really remember,perhaps it was his southern folksy salt of the earth charm , now I see this man as a reprehensible fascista cloaked in Old Testament dogma.

Dude, that's even more frightening than the talk show host's words! Shock jocks always say over-the-top things because that's part of their business model- to say crazy stuff, get attention, then profit from the increased views/clicks/readers/etc. Every now & then I'll get mad about them (like in this thread), but usually I just ignore them.

But for an actual Presidential candidate to say this crap... Does he also believe in stoning adulterers to death? Or stoning rebellious children to death (Deuteronomy 21:18-21)? And what's he going to propose for people who have tattoos, eat shrimp or pig, etc?
