What is your choice is how you treat your kids.

If you are harming them emotionally or physically, I will protest.
End of chat.

I'm not sure that much of parenting is really a choice. Most do to their kids what their parents did to them. Sadly so sometimes ;-)

Parenting is absolutely passed down from generation to generation. That doesn't mean people raised in a negative, counter-productive atmosphere can't learn how to do better than their parents or grandparents did.

Yes, but most of us are just damn lazy, intellectually challenged and DO NOT want to learn. I admire people who have the ability to pull themselves up from their own bootstraps.

it also requires that you do some self-exploration and realize that your own childhood was f'd up.

If you find having that pointed out to be a personal attack then I don't know what to tell ya. But I do find the accusation of doing so to be rather humorous, given your comment about me treating my kids like crap because I didn't look at your "resources."

YOU people pitched a fit that it wasn't directed at ALL homophobic religious people.

And I didn't say "you treat your kids like crap." FFS, dude!
Just STOP. Stop twisting the question.

You want me to shut up?
Oh well.

I want parents to treat their children with RESPECT, and to acknowledge them like the individuals they are, rather than trying to mold them into something they are not or rejecting them for their personalities.

Until that happens, I'll continue to be bothered by it.
You want me to not give a damn? NOT YOUR CHOICE if I do or not.

Precisely. Thank you for chiming in.
I'm pretty black-and-blue and nursing the flame-thrower burns at this point.

OMG!!!

ANY PARENT WHO REJECTS OR ABUSES THEIR CHILD FOR BEING WHO THEY ARE and TELLS THEM THEY WILL BURN IN HELL.
Got it?

I could see any parent that abuses being of concern.

But do the parents have to accept the lifestyle also?

I'm guessing that would be for all children with messed up parents that leave deep emotional scares. If you saw a parent feed poison to their kid would you say it's ok to respect that? And by poison I mean anything that would lead a teenager to suicide.

I'm sure you read my argument for homosexuality not being a choice. Would you like to respond to that?

The parents have to accept that this is who their child is and provide nurturing and unconditional love.

That is all.
Are you done brow-beating me now?

You're the one that was to make forced re-education "classes".

Not me.

No, beez. Just stop it.
I never said ANYTHING about "re-education camps" - that was all you.!!!

I suggested that anyone who is becoming, or might become, a parent ought to be PROVIDED with the information that will help them SUCCEED at parenting to the best of their ability.

Aren't I horrible?

Wrong.

You said the classes should be forced instead of voluntary.

Oh, but you are doing well in this discussion. When you get into a fight you need to expect some black and blues … lol. All the ad hominem attacks are a clear sign that the other site is running out of any logical arguments :-)

It already IS available voluntarily.

Do you intend to give your kid the keys to a new car and not teach him how to drive?

I knew better than to even respond to your question.
Do you think public education should be thrown out and we should just allow our kids to be illiterate and ignorant?

The problem is that some anti-gay parents really mean well and don't want their kids to end up in hell. Are they to be blamed or the book that spouts those doctrines? Brainwashing is a strong control mechanism, especially when applied at an early age.
