The internet is weird

For anyone wondering this was originally blank, but now I'll share the story.

So my very sweet grandmother recently decided she wanted a pen pal. She's actually pretty tech savvy given her age, and isn't wanting for friends or activities, she just enjoys having corresponding with people.

So my aunt shows her how to use Craigslist, and my grandmother posts an ad, "90 year old woman seeking pen pal".

She got a few strange responses, but one took the cake.

"Hello, would you be interested in selling me some of your panties?"

LOL!

So I'm barely able to breathe while she's telling this story, my mother is next to me in hysterics, and she innocently asks, "Why would someone want my old panties?". Laughter increases, and I see that look of dawning realization on her face, then she starts giggling.

If anyone is interested, I have an idea for a new business.

Its why a lot of use keep family members away from the net at that age as i'm sure they don't want a lemon party or know what a blue waffle is and 2 girls......you get the idea....theres so many innocent phrases that mean much mind bleach...once you realise that you can either introduce them gently to the net or hope for the best

Come on we all know Craigslist is weird. Was that all she got? I'd could only imagine even more weird emails. But seriously it's not a place to post her age and stuff. That could end not good for her considering all the lunatics on there.

PLEASE teach her about Internet safety.

The internet is filled with high strangeness.

Behold! One of my all time faves.

Craigslist can be a weird place.
I sometimes browse casual encounters for kicks and giggles.
One that sticks in my memory is a guy that was looking for another guy to get naked and watch him play with his electric trains in exchange for frozen seafood.
He noted that there would be no "gay stuff."
