I think they saw this coming years ago and they have been exporting the least desirable of their society to Europe to support and deal with

It is REAL, it is coming, and it is why the world finances are going nuts trying to position themselves for the after effects of a nearly oil free world. It is why China market is going nuts too.

I doubt that has anybody worried about anything right now.

If it was as easy to manufacture as a simple car engine, it would still take 16+ years to replace the world's oil operated engines.

That is assuming that every engine maker drops everything and starts building them and only them, and assuming they can be built in the same amount of time as a car engine.

The reason oil will be around for the next 20+ years (guaranteed) is that the current infrastructure would take at least that long to be supplemented by any new technology.

Well we are down to $39 a barrel. With demand down and a glut of oil on the market with more Iranian oil to come as well it looks like the Saudis are going to keep pumping because they have plenty of cash to keep going. They likely hope to break others who can not, like Iran, Russia, Venezuela and drive some of them out of the game for awhile. The Saudis have only a tiny population to support, they can go a long time with low oil prices. At least it is good for drivers, we should be seeing lower prices for some time to come.

Price of gas is poised for a big drop in around 3 weeks, with more savings following by end of year.

This will not kill the economy. But it will free up some spending cash by consumers.

Could not happen to a nicer bunch of terrorist-sponsoring scumbags. I hope it is true.

On a side note, gas is $1.70 here. And we do not have to pump our own either.
