it's what they told me. either way I'm worried with all the bombs they are finding. i hope they find them all and nobody else gets hurt. hope my friend has enough sense to fly out a day or so early.

How very very sad... Glad they are scrubbing the footage then. Normally, I would say to show everything. But, in this case, there is no need for it.

BTW - Good eye!

I will keep your friend in my thoughts. If they are anything like my family member though, they will ride it out.

since they were targeting Chinese maybe it's a retalatory response to the sending of Chinese Muslims back to China instead of Turkey or usa after all?

also there are a lot of Chinese living in thailand. the Bangkok China town scene has close relations to both wealthy business men, police and Chinese triads. coukd have also veen an assault on the red shirts by yellow shirt loyalists. many yellow shirts were/are Thai spec. forces loyal to the royal family.

Looks like they are calling it an act of terrorism against their tourism.

""The perpetrators intended to destroy the economy and tourism because the incident occurred in the heart of the tourism district," Prawit Wongsuwan, defence minister, told Reuters."

Hey, you know more about the place than I do. Keep us informed.

I guess a major problem with detonating bombs in public spaces is not knowing exactly who's gonna get hit.

Hope that offers you some relief. I know there are other hospitals, but at least there aren't any "westerners" at this one.

Whoa, that looked pretty massive! Things burned up in the air for quite a bit longer than I would have expected. (Not that I know much about explosives.)

Some good friends of mine with two children with them walked a day before on the same spot where that bomb exploded .
As they told me just back from their trip to Thailand.

So weird if hear such things that you almost forget that it could be happening to you...
