Yes, those are terrible stories and I believe you 100%. Some parents have pride and worry what others' think. that's quite an old-fashioned mindset now though.

I don't think it really matters the group, to be fair. Someone's always gonna hate ya, it's the world we live in. People hate groups...we're all labelled in some way by someone.

Believe it or not most of us have a cross to bear. I meant what I said, no hard feelings and I ain't the type to refuse or deny anyone their rights - you ain't harming anyone and you seem quite reasonable - over and beyond that it's not my concern how you live your life, enjoy it, be a crime not to :p

One of my gay male friends the other night decided to tell me how he hates a certain woman who took of of his objects of affection away from him (another guy) and that he hates her for doing so because she is just a slut who tries to sleep with all his gay friends.

So then I asked him if he had sex with any of his gay friends and he said he did with all of them.
So then I asked him why he was not giving her the same level of equality when it comes to having sex. At which point he said that gay men are expected to have sex at will and that women aren't allowed to whore around.

Doesn't your bible say that gay is an abomination? So what twisted way did your synapses slowly begin to fire and come to the illogical conclusion that you can somehow say all heterosexuals are evil?

But I noticed the media is transitioning to Transgender stuff, it always makes me think what is the next frontier for the boundaries being crossed, animals, underage, polygamy.

The media tries to shove everything down our throats. From how to dress, political agendas, and what a sense of humor should be like. That does not mean you are homophobic. Mainstream television is a bad influence, especially to children. There are exceptions such as educational channels.

there is this tremendous pressure by television programming, the media and so may other outlets to force you to accept homosexuality as a representative (i.e. mainstream) cross section of society. I disagree. I have no personall issue with it (to each his own), but I take exception to every freaking show trying to shove it down everyone's throat as if every other person in society is gay. The facts are, homosexuality is in the minority of societal population. Does it exist? Yes. Does it upset me? No. Do I agree with it? No, but that's just my opinion (ONLY mine). Is it wrong? This is not for me to say. However, I take strong exception to increasingly more and more TV programs and the news trying to make this lifestyle appear as if it is a significant representative cross section of society. It isn't...and they are trying to force it to be that way.

Yes there are gay people and yes there can be gay person or more than one gay person in a group of ten people and there can also not be.

Just like how black people "crept" into media over the years, it was hard for a not exactly racist but simply unaware public that there are in fact many black people in society all around the world and they can act and they just like any other ethnicity work, play and live life.

Its got to a stage now where everyone ignores the black, mexican or any other nationality or race of person and is focused on the "token gay" person in a TV show or work place. Heck some gay people deliberately keep their social life a secret and their sexuality goes undetected by their work friends for years, perhaps confiding in their closest friends to keep it a s secret because for whatever reason (and thats all their own business).

Seems like the "token gay" in TV shows is some sort of must do because otherwise the gay community will notice and make a fuss, as its perceived by those that are not. Almost hand twisted to put a gay character and plot for them in when perhaps the original didnt, the writers are conscious that if they leave out a gay element they will be regarded as homophobic but also a loss of viewers as to the gay population not watching.

Im not going to mention my sexuality because its none of your business, so as a blank human with an unknown sexuality i agree and also do not think you are homophobic.

EDIT: casting should go like this, take the percentage of gay, black, white, male, female (whatever) of the area the show is to take place in, as coloured chips in a cup, shake it and blindly pick out the number of chips and choose that for the shows base character plot theme. Then if you get called a racist, homoaphobic or sexist you can just say "hey im not phobic about anything or anyone, take your offensive accusations to the chips and see what they say."

The problem is the standard of decency keeps moving it's not set, thus the boundary for tolerance is on the move too.
