Found this on the interwebs and thought it was nifty

PrintGREEN is turning 3D printers into on-demand gardeners after designing a “green” 3D printer. The project comes from the University of Maribor in Slovenia, and the “ink” is essentially a mixture of soil, seeds, and water which can be designed to print in any shape or letter. After drying, the soil solidifies, and grass starts to sprout from all the organic material.

It seems like every other week a new application can be used with 3D printers. This one isn't totally shocking considering we can 3d print houses, functional multi-part tools, organs, and so forth - but interesting nonetheless!

Now all we need to do is wait for the technology to be come less expensive and the whole world will change with it.

In the mean time, I'll stick with the 'old fashioned' way which is practically free! Painting with moss!

I've read that they also print food and other organics, they even are printing bones at the moment. It's revolutionary and we will see countless of things printed in the future.

maybe they will print cropcircles in the future ..
