I think climate porn will do just fine, kick the rest into touch. Gavin Shmuck now head of GISS, James Hansen and Michael with the broken leg. Polar bears started a charter to encourage humans as food being an immediate source with all the hype, even though they haven't found so many, so far.

All studies have projected scenarios to come about by the end of the century with some recent ones having scenarios taking place by mid century.

All of them except for the ones that have failed already that is. Remember how the Arctic was going to be ice free by now? Remember how snow in London was going to be a thing of the past?

Both of those failed. So we don't hear about them anymore and soon after those failed MMGW become Climate Change. Do you know why? Because the climate always changes. That's what it does. It's always done it, but now we as a species have the hubris to think we can stop it from that as if we control some kind of planetary thermostat.

Yes it would...

You understand that ice is made of water right? So if you add water to water, you get more water...
Now if you are drinking it of course it would not. So is your point that the oceans are losing water that the melting ice caps would replace?

Hmm when water freezes, does it not expand? So if you had ice in a cup and it melted th water level would actually lower! Only slightly tho.

5 Myths About Antarctic Melt

....

5. Ice shrinks when it melts, so ocean levels will go down

The Antarctic Ice Sheet is on land, not floating in the ocean. Actually, it is dipping its toes in the sea, but the majority of the ice is on land. (Antarctica's glaciers end in floating ice shelves that extend into the ocean.)

Thus, the vast majority of the ice is not currently displacing water and will raise sea level when it melts and flows into the ocean.

So I guess you could say that we're literally eating ourselves to death! What says ATS?

www.onegreenplanet.org...

They said we were all going to die in the 70's.

Then they said we were all going to die in the 80's.

Then they said we were all going to die in the 90's.

Then they said we were all going to die in the 00's.

Then they said we were all going to die in the 10's.

. . . . trying. . . . to . . . actually. . . . care. . . *gasp*. . . what . . . they. . . are. . . . preaching. . . now.

Yeah, you're right - just ignore it... it'll go away.. SMH

1. Push For A Planet That Is Free From Fossil Fuels

No problem! Give me an alternative that does not cost me an arm and a leg, a vehicle that is green that does not cost me an arm and a leg. The infrastructure to support it. All the same electronics that not only I, but you guys out there are using too, who's components are produced that also hurt the earth (along with the power to run them).

2. Plant A Tree!

Already do this. Quite a few more than one too, in order to replace the trees on my land that I take down for clearing or firewood.

3. Boost The Organic and Local Food In Your Life

Have my own chickens for eggs and grow my own garden.

4. Trim Your Waste-Line

While a worthy and healthy thing to do, one can get fat even if they go completely green. I've seen what rice, potatoes, wheat and other cereals, etc.

5. Most Importantly … Choose More Plant-Based Foods

Which requires large areas to grow en mass, which would require even more land to be cleared of trees. Kind of negates number 2. Unless it's from one's own garden, but large populations living in huge cities may find that difficult, hence they have to rely on those plants being mass produced.

However, any one comes to take my bacon, will be met by the barrel end of my gun.

Well alright then. Can we stop with the green push, open up all the wells and drive gas prices down? It'd be nice to let people have some extra spending money before the world ends.

Yaaawnnnnnnnn!

The only people profiting from 'studies' are the ones funded by fossil fuel companies in order to deny it's happening.

LOL you are sorely naive if you think that, yikes.

All of the dire predictions we hear today have been with us for 50 years and none of them have come true

So massive droughts, heatwaves, flooding, erratic weather, animals moving their ranges and plants changing their seasons aren't predictions coming true? How anyone can ignore massive amounts of irrefutable evidence is insane.

Oh, I know. July was so hot that NOAA has it 0.77 degrees below the average July 1901-2000.

That is using their own data no matter who the messenger is.

That's strange, if you look at big oil its reaping massive profits from selling their gas for electricity generation (tripped+ profits in last 10 years) that was previously the domain of coal industries. Perhaps oil companies have been secretly funding global warming alarmism behind the curtain so they could laugh all the way to the bank. Gas from fracking is not good for the environment.

Thats not the point. They are saying because ice in a cup when it melts doesnt change the level of water in it [buoyancy of the ice and water displacement] then the ocean is the same way and in effect, sea water wont rise if ice caps melt.

Here is the problem, this is wrong because the ice caps are not all submerged in the oceans. So its not as if you have a cup filled with ice, its as if you have a cup with 50 ice cubes sitting outside of it, draining into the cup.

Now, does that make the cup overflow?

Hint: Obviously.

All the salt waters on Earth are connected and additions to the massive total volume level out to every shoreline on the entire Earth. The volume of ice on land world-wide if all melted would not raise the ocean shores located WORLD-WIDE by more than a few inches. Math is math (geometry and all). Additional water also weighs more and crushes the ocean bottoms to become deeper and not be reflected on much rise on every inch of salt shoreline throughout the entire world.

Raising the pole temps even 10 degrees from -42 to -32 means it's not going to melt. +10 degrees has never, ever been discussed nor predicted in any worst case scenario model.

I dare you to cite the "Arctic was going to be ice free by now" thing - a direct and full quote, specifically.

If you tell me to go Google it (as others have said of other call outs), then you're unprepared to back up what you say. Back it up.

With good reason.

If that is the alleged source, then (as usual) they are cutting off information - the Al Gore 'claim' was of a range not a specific date.

The range used US Navy research for the absolute worst case scenario of the Arctic being ice free in the summer in, depending on when the speech was made, 2014 or 2015. The higher bound of the range was in the late 2020s.

Willfully misrepresenting the quote is flying in the face of Deny Ignorance; that's just what Rush Limbaugh did when he set a deadline - of the absolute worst case scenario, completely ignoring that there was a range.

Didn't you know they are just natural cycles, animals move and die it has nothing to do with the changing environment,in fact i will go as far as to say the environment has never changed, ever we dont pollute rivers and oceans, the land is not being poisoned ....its all a myth,as someone else mentions "ignore it and it will go away"...lol us humans are not short sighted at all we know it all....

THOSE WHO DONT LEARN FROM HISTORY (Including very recent history) ARE DOOMED TO REPEAT IT...

Look back to the 70s. The coming Ice Age. Crops won't grow; mass starvation; mass migration and die off of animals; and, and, and...

I was in grade school. The same hysterical crap that has been spoon fed (Global Warming! Cities will be under water! The polar bears!) to today's children about warming, was fed to my generation about the "Ice Age."

Every BIG snow storm! It's the Ice Age! Every rainy spring...it's the el Ninos CAUSED by global cooling...and on and on and on. Shamefully they scared the crap out of little kids back them (youth are ALWAYS the most gullible because the young, IMO, are very ego centric--NOTHING of any historic purpose happened BEFORE they arrived on the planet.) so they scare the young...and guess what. We grow up and LEARN for ourselves that weather (and its extremes) has happened continuously and will change continuously due to everything from volcanic eruptions (learn about The Summer That Wasn't--due to Mt. Pinatuba) and brush up on the Earths weather cycles due to the Suns 11 year Sunspot cycle (the Maunder Minimum for example) and then read the foolish rhetoric of Dr. Mann and his "hockey stick" and realize how this generation is being played (for profit!) just like mine was (and the planet keeps spinning, and the Sun keeps rising)

For grins and giggles on how the Political Classs wanted THEIR SHARE of the Global Warming cash cow, learn ALL you can about the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX). It was to be the NY Stock Exchange of carbon credit trading (for the good of Mother Erf of course). The major Chicago players (back at the turn of this century) were (now here is where it gets really, really interesting) David Axelrod, the Emanuel brothers, the Jaretts, and some Illinois House representative (and his wife) named Obama.

AGAIN, those the don't LEARN from HISTORY are doomed to be suckered by those who have
