A Down Under drone operator in Australia had a rude awakening when the angry bird "punched" his high tech to the junk heap. "This is the last thing a small bird sees when a Wedge-Tailed Eagle decides that you are dinner," Adam Lancaster, who posts as Melbourne Aerial Video, wrote.

He claimed he was more concerned for the bird. "Eagle was fine -- she was massive, and used talons to 'punch' the drone out of the sky," wrote Lancaster. However, he says he has a new rule of thumb when doing aerial drone surfing. "If you see a bird of prey while flying. Land" he posted.

Awesome video! I wonder if the Eagle thought the drone was either a threat or a meal? Either way, cool stuff!

I'm guessing a threat rather than a meal, but great footage.

Imagine those big talons piercing you and hooking in, OUCH!!

Mother Nature at its Finest!

Now all we need to do is stock the production line with ANDROID birds of prey, to pluck out more virtual eyes. Prefect patsy!

"Wasn't me officer! I swear! An eagle ate it!"

Yeah, the Eagle made quick work of that Drone! I'm sure that is a scary view for other birds that these Eagles kill and eat, lol

If the eagle and drone were in America, the eagle would have been charged with destruction of property.

There's a great clip on Youtube where a man, I think in DC, was flying a radio controlled plane with a camera attached. An eagle ripped its wing off and followed the crashing RC plane to the ground. The camera remained functioning and you could watch the eagle land next to it and continue ripping it apart.

Birds of Prey of awesome.

I hope that eagle didn't hurt him/herself too badly on the rotors of the drone

The next step is to make these drones bird safe, I think it would really count.
