A lot of the threads lately have been kind of sucking IMO. And not just mine, lol

With so many things going on in the world (and outer space) to talk about at the moment, I've noticed that at times in the past when less current events were as relevant as they currently are, people actually talked a little more openly about a greater number of interesting topics. Wow, obscure right? But, it's hard to explain.

On the topic of my own threads lately, I've been learning that not all share the same sense of humor, and that it can be exceedingly easy to irritate and/or offend someone unintentionally because they did not understand your humor. In the possibly bleak future of Planet Earth, I'm starting to wonder if there will always be room for comedy for the human race. I personally hope so. And besides, how does one 'learn' how to be relevantly funny anyways. Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

This is more of a condemnation of myself than anyone else.

*starts ducking*

It is political correctness. How dare you get past without a humorectomy? Nothing is funny because it might hurt someone's feelings.

Oh, forgot to add ... when you have to walk on egg shells around everyone and everything else, you start getting sensitive yourself because if you can't laugh about them or that ... How dare they laugh at you?!

I feel like there is a general sense of "Meh" around here. The only thing making big numbers is the race bait type threads. With the political machine winding up, the extreme lack of quality candidates, the usual tone of left vs. right rhetoric, I kind of get it. It's the opposite of Christmas to me. (the most wonderful time of the year) election time, the suckiest time of the season. Plus I hear we are all going to die in September. So there is that.

Maybe in October, if we are all still here, things will pick up?

Care to enlighten us on the September doom porn? It's been awhile since we had a good end of world thread.

I miss 2012 and the consequent theories...some were so detailed they were almost believable.

I am actually not sure. I have been told by some RNJ's that the end will be here in September, and I have had others explain how asteroids will hit us and kill is in September, but to be honest, I didn't care enough to pay attention. In January of 2013, I was left with 200 pounds of rice, 38 cans if spam, and a whole # load of dirty magazines. Since then, I travel a bit lighter.

Are you sure? It's says, "This is Ketsuko's bag baby" right on the inside tag?

Maybe there really isn't anything left to talk about. It's a safe bet that at some point in the future Earth will be hit by something big enough to wipe out a big chunk of life. It’s a safe bet that somebody has found a way to make money off of whatever is going on wherever you are. It's a safe bet that politicians are un-forthcoming about their motivations, and are playing a longer game than you can see. It's a safe bet that the military has tech we don't get to benefit from.

Take that with the fact that we're all under a considerable amount of pressure from our regular lives, from the economy... I find myself depressed by a lot of the stuff we discuss. Have you felt the same? Sometimes it's easier to discuss cat videos, and eat trans-fatty foods with extra HFCS. And Play Next Episode. And Play Next Episode. And Play Next Episode.

People are tired of trying to discuss subjects of interest, only to be ridiculed and beaten down....easier to just stay off the forums, or find a more friendly place to hang out. The internet is a nasty, hateful place these days.

It's because of Jade Helm, and Israel.

Mostly Israel.

Or mostly Jade Helm.

Maybe it is the type of thread you are using, tr silk or cotton, they are much more comfortable against the skin, stay away from polyester and wool, holy cow those are the worst. I hope these words of wisdom will help you in your daily endeavor to deal with the current events going on.

At least you should feel for comfort if you do use these threads, remember, silk and cotton are you best friends.

There's a whole ton of stuff. Everything from Popes visiting to climate chaos to CERN to meteors to biblical cycles to the UN to Jade Helm to the Hoover Dam to .... yeah, lots of stuff.

But it's been under the radar unlike 2012.

I completely agree.
The ignorance on the internet is overwhelming.

CERN is at it again? Oh and I'm still looking for a specific date in September...easier to plan my life if I know when it's going to end. See...we can all just discuss the interesting bits on this thread, keep it on the DL so no haters recognize what's happening...yes? No? Maybe so?

Cotton is far too flammable for the internet...have to be careful about that.
