Your tags are messed up so can't see the pic.

Hey they worked!

It's a B-17.

To be hypertechnical, it's a B-17G, named "Aluminum Overcast", owned by the UtahExperimental Aircraft Association and it was on its way to Ogden, Utah to give rides annd be put on display. I goes on tour all over the US every year and sells rides for about $400.00/person. It's a 65,000 pound, 10 crewmember 4 engineheavy bomber from WWII. 8,600 of this partic
ular model were produced. 1 still flies in the US.

If he was flying to Utah he must have been lost... heading NE towards Lansing area...

He was low and slow and damn cool too see. I would pay 400 bucks to ride in it

Know the right people and you can be "ballast" for free.

Nice to see some other Michiganders around the boards. Yankee Lady is a beautiful bird. Depending on what they're doing, often Yankee Warrior and Yankee Doodle Dandy aren't too far away.

When I'm back in the area I always wind up seeing them around the I-96/US-23 interchange for some reason.

If ever in the PNW, check out the flying heritage collection. They have several airshows during the summer months and have a very nice collection of flying war birds.

They offer rides out of there too. I think they have a T-6 and a T-28 at the field.

At the same time, they could just be doing practice flights or private rides. Thunder Over Michigan is coming up pretty soon, so they probably want to ensure everything is up to snuff before then. They do a lot of rides then.
