Less government = more corporate

But how then would corporations control governments?

Maybe big government = more poverty.

Like in Europe for example.

Or America......

What, you don't know what your talking about.

You totally made that one up.

I was in the military for 28 years, I kind of know how it works. As you make rank you get more choices, but go to Iraq or Afghanistan (2 years worth) and all choices are once again made for you, and the living standards are not that good, but bearable at best.

When we look around the planet and Government is taking care of the people they generally lose individual rights, freedoms, choice and privacy though they do not starve. It is only when the individual takes their own life into their own hands can they get what they desire. Personally I would rather have my own choice than have Government make that choice for me, but many people would not care with the lack of choice if everything was provided.

I'm amused at the people who despise corporations but embrace government.

Government is the biggest corporation there is.

That's it! I prefer to call myself a Futurist because no current plan seems to work. I can only look forward, not back (except to learn from the past).

Some people are "go getters" and some just don't care as long as their basic needs are met.

There needs to be some kind of Layered system that you can work your way up if that's your personality - - and be rewarded for it. But, also a basic level for those that aren't willing or don't care to apply themselves.

"That which is not earned has no value" - - - so I don't exactly support hand outs. I don't support someone getting a house if they didn't do something to earn it.

Hand Ups is different.

So your comparing the living conditions of being in a war zone as A marine to the topic of discussion in this thread?

Give me a break.

I see people arguing over which master to have, but none are espousing individuality and "none" except for a few.

That remains to be seen. Until then it's all melodrama on your part.

You'll be branded an anarchist.

We live in a society. We live on top of each other.

Unless you plan on relocating to Mars or the moon - - - "Freedom" is subjective to your environment.

I never said anything about either.

You keep on calling me melodramatic.

Is that how you refer to people who don't agree with your socialist utopia?

What system of government and economic model would you be in favor of?

East India Company is still the biggest cartel in the world, just under new management. One of these is the flag adopted by congress prior to the declaration of independence, the other was the EIC at the same time. I honestly forget which size means which conspiracy.

As for the socialist Marine Corps, I am not talking about their model for housing or feeding people (by the way, they contracted out meals and got rid of their own cooks- my meals in the corps were served by the mentally handicapped and the last company to eat always got shafted, even on the Marine Corps Birthday).

What I am saying is that if profit margins and competitive redundancy were introduced, the only ways to maintain the current insufficient standard of living troops are afforded would be to raise the price and reduce supply, so from now on Palmdale will be defended by Bob's Discount Militia, but there will be enough Marines to defend Hollywood still.

And keep in mind, the U.S. fired 50 million dollars of ordinance in one morning during peace time just because Bill Clinton wanted to look tough before the 96 election, and 15 million worth later because Bill Clinton had sex. We could double military pay and barely notice the difference on a spending pie chart (which I propose offsetting not by showing restraint with our doomsday devices, but merely by not putting Halliburton in charge of water or laundry anymore.)

I'd lean towards "free market anarchism".
