Are people really getting so damn lazy that they'd even consider buying something like this? I have no faith in our future...

I'm thinking of buying 4 of them and then putting one on each of the corners of my lazyboy recliner. Then I will sync them up with my rasppi 2 so I can take automated strolls in the park for some fresh air.

Also think of the energy I will save from having to get up from my couch to the frig to grab a beer.

I can picture everyone in New York City using these to get around the city
! Would need to have some heavy duty wheels though. Who knows, maybe this will be the start of something big.

You read my mind. Trips to the fridge and back was the first thing I thought of.

800 bucks for a weighing scale on wheels, seriously folks.
A pair of "Cardiff skates" would do much the same thing and give you some exercise too!
(A few on a leading auction site)

what a great invention for you city folk. not very useful around here. Not for a hundred miles at least. Maybe for the mall or something....but if im going to the mall its to walk off a meal or something.

Built myself a "vaguely" similar device a few years ago. Showed off my "stand-n-ride" to a few people and got some good laughs but no real interest.
I hope them better luck but I see a lot of drawbacks already.

Finally, the solution for people who can't walk and chew gum at the same time.

Looks like a rumba hoover.

Cats mastered the art of riding those years ago.

I could see them being used at airports.

Pimp them out with neon blue LED under-lighting to freak people out.

Come on, give us a break. If people actually walked around on their own that would be discriminatory to the ones who use a Segway or a walk car. Or a car. Too much muscle for some is not politically correct.

That would be really awesome. This idea almost makes me want to start skating again, it would be fun to see what the professional skaters would do with tech like this.
