I agree.

The issue is much more complex than it seems. A simple wage increase will not solve the problem overall.

Of course not. The premise of the thread is that when you hear these candidates speak tonight remember that they have a proven track record of not representing the working class.

So disregard what they say, whatever they say.

Got it.

It won't solve any problem, it'll make it worse.

This country was made great by its middle class. A middle class gives hope. What should have happned was the middle class establishing itself within all ethnic groups. Instead, the middle class had itself gutted to create a working class in China and India. Now we are all the same.

If they have a track record that contradicts what they say, of course. You know what the bible says, judge people by their deeds.

Loss of manufacturing, inflation...

If I had my exact same profession, 20 years ago -- I'd be able to afford a hell of a lot more for my yearly income.

I think as inflation has taken it's toll, those on top have adjusted their salaries accordingly, but the people in the middle and at the bottom have been left out. Their wages haven't kept up.

Then you combine that with the fact that we don't make anything anymore...we've become a service based economy...

It's pretty bleak.

The problem is, no current system can maximise the resources we have available. Socialism spreads it too lightly capitalism concentrates the resources in the use of a tiny minority, rendering much of our resources , labour and products useless

I swear if I had a nickle every someone told me the GOP doesn't 'care' about people.

I would be an evil 1% er.

Oh yeah Sanders sure is a real 'winner'.

Go cess pool politics.

If nothing else, tonight's second debate ought to be a real old school WWF cage match. All we need is Christie in a mask and some chairs thrown around. Trump doing that bad and inadvertent Tony Clifton imitation. It's going to be epic.

Given the format, I don't expect this to provide one iota of valuable info. I predict whoever you loved (or hated) going in, it'll be the same feeling coming out. The post debate spin ought to be equally hilarious.

Until it can get winnowed down to a manageable 4-5 people, this is strictly for the entertainment factor for me. Oh yeah, I'll be watching, and if I was home in time, I'd watch the one at 5:00 EDT too.

Bernie is absolutely correct.

The GOP is morally and ethically bankrupt.

They don’t even give lip service anymore that they give a dam about the poor and middle class

Their just 100 percent dogmatic butt lickers of the rich and super rich

ALL of them are in politics for one reason

To protect the material goods of the elite

GO Bernie

Right about that simply because any wage increase gets eaten up by TAXES.

The FEDERAL government is the biggest winner.

Also self defeatist since as money is printed out of thin air the value of the dollar decreases which means it takes more $$ to buy things.

If the Sanders in the country would get their heads out of their butts, and realize the money has to be fixed.

Instead of his socialist crap.

thats the scam. Take out a boatload of loans from China, spend that cash on your friends and their businesses. Then raise minimum wage while printing tons of new cash. VOILA...more taxes flowing in from a devalued economy. You are now paying back those loans at a fraction of their original value.

Sure the middle class gets screwed....let them eat cake.

I will agree with a scam since its mostly China, and our 'loans' and treasuries paying for the social programs Sanders has a slobbering love affair with. Since the people on them are paying little to nothing to keep them going.

That'll be interesting.

I wonder if they'd criticize foreign policy, the high unemployment, record numbers on food stamps, under this democrat administration and how they'd differ.

In the end, that is all happening due to Climate Change.

It'll be good theatre, regardless.
