I did not say that JN cannot or has not been abused. Indeed it has, no question. We are dealing with humans here, not angels.

You will not acknowledge the role of the jury, even as you do acknowledge our Common Law heritage. But that's OK. Most americans do not. Worse, they don't care. Americans hate jury duty and try their best to evade it. Americans evade all manner of civic duty, and that is one reason why we're in the mess we're in.

The American Jury Institute has the right information and the right perspective. Yours is just another authoritarian sophistry approach so common today. Yes, by all means, we have the government we deserve.

In the meantime, on a case by case basis, informed and conscientious citizens will practice jury nullification as they see fit, no matter your protestations.
