Passerby Scolds Sheik for Teaching Kids Martyrdom at Al-Aqsa Mosque Summer Camp

I went to summer camp when I was a kid...even went to a Bible Camp or two

There we did things like swimming, played volleyball, baseball and soccer, among other things. Basically we played, socialized and generally had fun - as kids.

At this summer camp, apparently, kids need to learn about all of the rewards of becoming a martyr...absolution of previous sins, marriage in the afterlife to virgins, etc.

So...come on kiddies, get ready to spill your blood and die in battle for Allah! Are we having fun yet?



An infinitely more reasoned individual comes along and implores the Shiek to stop filling young minds with such ideas...in response to which, it seems, the kids are then led to perform chants which indicate their desire to give their souls and blood to achieve martyrdom.

Nice...

Oh...and the Sheik looks to be about 70 years old.

Why is it that the guys who preach to others about how great it is to become a martyr, never seem to seek out this glory for themselves? Hmmmm....

The guy makes the fair point though about indoctrination into islamic belief - although don't the jewish people indoctrinate their kids into their own beliefs also at that age??? Christians like to get them young.

Either way its poison and nonsense that corrupts little kiddies minds and that man was peddling hatred, but at least the kids looked thoroughly bored. Hopefully in today's world they will get a better perspective and realise that there are other ways of getting fair treatment, other than becoming a martyr with promised virgins although you will have a dead body. Doesn't take much to wonder how that will work and if heaven is full of fornicating men with women lined up outside the bedroom. Not a good image to ponder.

All religions indoctrinate. But not all preach violence.

There is nothing of God in his words. It is only hate.

I hate what radicals have done to the beautiful teaching found in the Quran. Similar to what Radicals in the past did to the teaching in the Bible.

The only time Mohammed taught war was in self defense. Jihad is the Spirit that a pacifist can call on to defend himself. Mohammed taught to seek peace with your enemy first, but if your enemy continues to attack you God will give the pacifist a Spirit of Jihad to help battle the enemy.

This was not the teaching of Martyrdom, but a teaching of victory. God granting victory to the oppressed no matter what the numbers, because God never takes the side of the aggressor.

If someone dies defending themselves they are granted access to heaven.

There is no such thing as a Holy War, all wars are an abomination to God. However he doesn't expect you to be a pacifist when someone is trying to forcefully harm you and take what is yours.

The Quran says if at any point the aggressor stops and seeks peace, then all are to lay down their weapons, because God is a God of peace, not war.

There are no virgins for martyrs. This is BS found only in the Hadith.

Only if you disagree with your right to defend yourself would you disagree with the Quran.

The Hadith and Radical Islam does not represent Mohammed or the teaching of the Quran in any way. And the bible did not teach Christians to do the crusades found in history books.

Using Religion to justify an act of aggression for anything other than self defense is always an abomination to God.

The hypocrisy should be self evident...

I find it sadly amusing that a seventy year old man can urge martyrdom on the young of any faith, or ideology...

Course, then I think, what's new? Nothing new under the sun.

A true leader leads by example. He should try that.
