Wasn't sure where to put this but since an ancient civilization builds these, I figured this is a good a spot as any.
This makes me wonder how many ancient and old techniques were lost forever when war or disease killed those that had the knowledge to show the next generation how to do it, but now they couldn't.

Thanks for the share. These people and their culture is one of the most beautiful on earth, in my opinion. I'm always amazed by them.

right on,
thanks for posting.
That vid comes from a documentary from about 12-15 years ago. In the original production they also show local stone masons working blocks in the old way, like at saksaywaman, with nothing more than pounders, they even haul the blocks up from a river bottom, with the same grass ropes, to prove to disbelievers that their ancestor did infact build the great monuments of the andes.

Truly amazing stuff.

What interested me is that the bridge builders are so confident of the process that the old bridge gets cut away well before the new one is ready to bear travelers.

It's amazing how the ancients made everything look so easy.
