In Testimony to the Spirit of the Holy Ghost

If ye hath sinned against our Saviour; beholden!

Ye never did heard our Father;
Ye never did asketh His Son;
Ye never did spake with truth;
Ye never did known thine heart;
Ye never did seek the blessings;
Ye never did learnt your lessons;
Ye never did saw your comings;

And thence doth we pray forth...

For ye hath taken His name in sacrament,
And yet He is most displeased.
For ye hath taken His name in deceit,
And yet He shan’t even be fooled!

If it be that He returnth as witness,
Yea, to such unholy sacrilege.
If it be that He cometh with testimony,
Hear now that ye repent!

Might His Father see that ye not,
He shalt knoweth thine wickedness.
And His Father, Our Father in Heaven,
Bestoweth upon sinners His mercies!

Let it not be that ye taketh His churches!
Let it not be that ye staineth His temples!
Let it not be that ye rile His good grace!

Yea, and with every reverence ye now saith with me;

In the name of the Heavenly Father;
Of the Holy Spirit, and;
Of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Amen.

Is there any particular reason that you decided to post in 14th century English verbiage? I think your message would have gotten across a lot more clearly if you used modern terms.

It's a poem, or rather a prayer... a bit of both actually. I think it's effective enough as it is.

Define "effective" (in relation to this).

Amen - A beautiful call to repentance. A call that is certain yet many still fail to heed.

I pray for you, that whatever your intentions they may bring to Light whatever is hidden, yet needs to be revealed. - In response to your previous thead.

Reading the title, I expected to open a thread from a Christian welcoming "sinners" in peace and the holy spirit.

I should have known better.

Yep. I expected that too. I was disappointed by someone who thinks they are a Christian, again.

You're not taking all the other members in all the member countries and languages they understand. That's the issue....you disregarded the interpretive abilities of at least a majority of our 300,000 members, their languages, countries etc.

So you may get it...great...but....many will not. Nice try. Try thinking of our international membership....
