On Meet the Press, Trump said he empathized with those concerns. “There is turmoil in our country,” he said. “I can certainly see it when I see what’s going on.”
However, Trump said the answer was to give more “strength and power” to the police.
“But at the same time we have to give power back to the police, because we have to have law and order,” he said. “We have to give strength and power back to the police. You’re always going to have bad apples .. [but] the police have to regain some control of this crime wave and killing wave that we have in this country.”

Do you think think Trump will create his own secret police force?

So these cops aren't enforcing the law when they are killing people? None has taken power from the police sounds like Donnie would support a police state.

How do you make the leap from his actual comment to him creating a "secret police force"?

I know Trump just says stuff without having any idea what he is talking about but, what the hell crime wave is going on about? Does he not have anybody on his staff who can fact check him and say, hey Donald you do know the crime in the US has been on the decline and is at it lowest crime rate since the 1970s. It is almost like he just likes to be on opposite side of facts. At a point when the nation think police have abused the power they have, he is suggesting they have more.

Hey Spad,
Is it possible Donald is talking to social media popular ideas? True or not the demographic of popular opinions may out weigh things. Idk this to be true but feel its highly possible.

True crime is going down.

But look at the headlines and what is on mainstream news.

The average person in the US who is not aware
or vaguely aware of what is going on
only sees the headlines and what the media tells them.

Murder up in Baltimore,
murder up in Chicago,
police are on a rampage of killing black people.

Then there is the "mean world syndrome".
This is for the idiots who don't even pay attention
to the news, but watch TV programs,
specifically crime/police programs.
Read about mean world syndrome,
it is when people subject themselves to so much violence
that they see and believe that the world
is a very very mean and dangerous place, even if it is not.

Donald is media savvy and speaks to the people who love TV.

He knows what he is doing
and is appealing to the absolutely huge group
of Americans (both Democrat and Republican)
who are not politically aware, but are culturally aware
(ie watch a lot of TV, Kardashian followers, Oprah followers).

He has that group
(which BTW is predominately lower class and less educated)
Also, remember the highest watching TV group in the US are blacks
(check it out if you don't believe me).

So he is grabbing the attention of what these
Democratic base people believe,
that the world is a mean mean place
and there is out of control crime.

If the Donald captures this base which is larger
than the educated Republican and Democratic base
and a huge section of the independent base,
the every 4 year dim bulb voter; he's got the win.

Remember for most people, perception IS reality,
so what they think is true
the US is dangerous and has out of control crime,
is true in their minds,
even if statistics and truth show otherwise.

I don't think he will create a secret police force.

This is just more of the same with Trump. He opens his mouth and crap rolls out.

Why would the UK be doomed?

Silly monkey!

Interesting part is how many are laughing and saying it can't happen.

I think it has a good chance of happening because of what I outlined above.
There are enough dim bulbs in the electorate (Dem/Indy/Rep)
who worship the Kardashians and Oprah that he can actually win.
After all look at the Karsashian fans, what good are the whole lot?
They are fame whores with fat butts, and the dim bulbs think they
are wonderful.

The more the politically aware and elite laugh him off, the
greater chance the dim bulbs will believe he is "the one".
And believe me, there are far more dim bulbs who vote
only once every 4 years, then there are politically aware
and astute voters who vote regularly.

Actually, there has been an uptick recently in crime in some major cities:

www.cnn.com...

After decades of a downward trend in crime, residents in some large U.S. cities wonder if a reversal is coming.

If you live in Baltimore, you know that May, with 43 homicides, was the deadliest month since 1972. Or if you are a Houstonian, you've probably heard that murders were up 45% through April compared to the same period in 2014.

The latest statistics in Milwaukee show a 103% spike in murders year-to-date compared with a year ago. In Atlanta, 41 people were killed in the first five months of this year compared with 27 in the same period last year, an increase of 52%.

The spike in killings in these major cities would be troubling in itself at any time, but it is especially troubling now, when policing practices, race and social policies are regularly in the news.

So, again, The Donald is correct. Just like the stock market, you have to look at the up and down ticks, and right now we are having an uptick.

Why would the UK be doomed?

Because the UK is both economically and militarily connected to you guys.

We have spent the last 5 years working and sacrificing our arses off not only to get out the recession but to nearly clear our deficit and to be the fastest developed economy in the world.

We don't want a crazy US president that will risk wiping that hard work off by triggering a US market crash and Trump already bankrupted 4 of his businesses!

Well then you better hope something happens to keep the dim bulbs away from the voting booth.

Right now, it is looking like he is appealing to the dim bulbs of all persuasions
Democrat/Independent/Republican

Again, unfortunately the dim bulb voters far outnumber the politically aware and astute.

To the dim bulbs his TV show was really real
and he appears to them like he can really get things done;
to them he appears to be able to surround himself with
people who will get the job done;
to them he appears more Presidential than a
whiny, excuse making, claims to be broke while owning 5 mansions,
old white lady who has a cheating dog for a husband.
Remember to dim bulbs, perception IS reality.

People better stop laughing and start waking up to the truth
of the situation.
Trump has a good chance of winning, especially if the politically
astute and aware keep laughing off his chances.
