That is true, but you have the option to opt out of it....do you not?

The poor, the homeless, the unemployed or basically anybody falling victim to failed government might not have an option.

As I'm sure you've noticed, for some, anything with the word "social" in it is read as "socialism."

If you're comfortable in your ideology, does it matter what someone else calls you?

No, I don't care at all. But if by being comfortable in my ideology I try to change things that negatively affects others by making them conform to mine (both right and left), then there is a problem.

Then you're in luck.

The liberal/socialist/progressives are running things.

And conservatives are trying to ruin things for people when it doesn't affect them at all. Why do conservatives seem to care so much about what other people do when it doesn't affect them?

If someone tries to kill someone else, I have no say in the matter, but on a moral basis, I try to step in because sometimes, it's the right thing to do.

So what about the whole, you know, gay marriage thing? That comes to mind.

When have I ever been against that?

Please show me where I said that I am against gay marriage.

I'll wait.

Never said you were.

But conservatives in general are up in arms against it, including most of the presidential candidates. That's the point.

That's hilarious! So in mentally ill leftist authoritarian world, conservatives are bad because they are "up in arms" about gay marriage, but DEMOCRAT and progressive authoritarian hero Hussein obozo can fund a genocidal proxy army that throws gays from rooftops.

thrown from building

But hey, he has a "D" in front of his name so throwing gays from rooftops is great and liberal. Hypocrite.

The thing is, in a conservative dream-world, you'd have a corporate authoritarian world.

Both extremes give authoritarian societies.

I'd like to think though, with the right people in power -- a government could be steered more easily than corporations who's sole purpose is to make profit for a select few.

Who knows though...

So ... you'd like to return to the State authorities banning "gay marriage" then?

Just for the record, what does authoritarian mean again in your world?

So why is being conservative so bad? After all, not all things are bad if they're not new.

Conservatism as It is generally defined or understood is not bad. Neither is liberalism. it's the extremes of both.

Nowadays Liberalism means raising taxes and taking guns and Conservatism means anti Gay, anti woman and is a code word for being Christian. We know that's not exactly what liberals and conservatives only want to be known for.

We need new words, in my opinion. Which means that they'll be old words, re purposed for the modern age.

So...what you're saying is extreme conservatism is about morals, and extreme liberalism is about taking things from the people.

I always get a kick out watching you all argue amongst yourselves in regards to your make-believe political ideology which was created to keep us divided.

You're all mentally ill if you think your vote makes a difference or if you don't already know that the outcome will be the same no matter who gets "elected" to read the teleprompter.

This is ATS we should be peeking behind the curtain, not buying into their divide and conquer techniques.

The corporation known as usa is ran by a shadow government which holds no allegiance to Americans.

Don't forget to get your flu shot when you go vote. Might as well get an RFID chip implant too...

And some of you wonder why the world laughs at us, LMAO!

It doesn't matter what I want, the point is leftist pride themselves as champions of gay rights while demonizing conservatives as anti gay, meanwhile the demon king democrat party leader is funding the MURDER of gays.

Yet all you self proclaimed "gay rights" advocates remain silent. Seems to me as a conservative, I'm more for gay rights than anyone on the left.

How did you get that? How is Being anti Gay or anti women or a Christian equal to being moral? It's really not. And the pretext, under what I was saying is that's a brought untrue stereotype anyways, perpetrated by our media pundits and frauds like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and our main line politicians...frauds like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

Am I the only one who watched FyreByrd's video?

Here it is again. Not even 20 minutes. I encourage you all to watch it before you post again.

Our brains are wired differently.
Some of us are drawn to change and future and possibilities. Others of us are uncomfortable with change or thinking or imagining what else to do besides what they've always done (even if it is clearly not working).

Just saying. It's a comfort zone thing. One group gets bored with the status quo and wants to make progress toward a more advanced goal....the other group gets terrified, indignant, panicky, angry, and super-pushy.

(Watch it, and thanks to FyreByrd for the link.)

Open minded people want more government to solve this problem, and closed minded people want more government to solve that problem.

The two people are in the same party --- the government-is-the-solution party.

You didn't answer the question, which proves that you know you are an autocrat.

Which leftists are you referring to? Anyone in particular, or just convenient straw-man group you've made up to serve your agenda?

There is no "demon king democrat party leader" ... that statement is either delusional or dishonest or both.

You're for gay rights, eh? So, you believe in marriage equality?

You're working for an Equal Rights Amendment so that Americans can't be discriminated against based sexual orientation and/or gender identity?

What I love is how you guys tend to make yourselves the automatic champions and the morally upright ones and then paint your policies as THE only way to be pro-this, that, or the other. Then you paint anything and everything that isn't your policy as anti and perfectly diametrically opposed which then let's you paint the "Other" as evil and bad.

I know why you do it. Hegelian dialect is easy and makes it easier to attempt to win. Good/Evil and all that.

But sometimes, in fact lots of time, the "other" is no more opposed than you are. He/She just takes a differing approach to the issue.

So ... you're a proponent of the "two wrongs make a right-winger extremist BS answer" group?

Understandable.

I would love to see any conservative/Republican/right-winger/tea-partier/neo-libertarian NOT act like they are morally and intellectually superior to everyone and everything.

That would be refreshing.

(HINT: Don't hold your breath.)

I didn't make ANYTHING up.

And yeah, you *did* say as much, and alluded to much more by implication, and it's plain as day: That's some of the "worries."

Because I quoted what you said.

Do the schools start teaching my child it's normal and natural, that to hold the belief that marriage between man and woman is unnatural and bigoted? These are just some of the worries.

So yeah. :/

If the left can say that my labor is theirs ( the income tax), and my health is theirs ( Obamacare ) why can't the left say that marriage belongs to the state as well, as in, if you deny sex to anybody you must be anti social.

The only thing gays really needed was a way to transfer property to a loved one that they are not related to. Anybody should be able to do that. Overreaching law is the only thing preventing that transfer in the first place. More law is the worst solution.

I am so intellectually superior that I could do it, but they're cleaning my ivory tower later so I don't have time right now.

I'm off to throw loose change at poor people and watch them scramble for it.

MWAA-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
