Yes, I used a text acronym, ATM, in my thread title.

Anywho....why are there so many Bernie Sanders threads on ATS right now? I don't recall ever seeing a heavy political push on ATS, but the Sanders threads have me wondering...

Are there, possibly, true disinformation specialists that flood sites, like ATS, to brainwash the theorists into believing a certain politician is the one to back?

Tinfoil hat is in fill force tonight....odd happenings...

He seems more authentic than any politician has in a long time, and is doing things no other politician has had, for example refusing corporate sponsors.

So some people have a bit more hope than usual is all. The same people backing him on the boards are the same people funding his success, the people, for once, not corporate lobbyists.

Well that is, sort of, what I am implying...this all seems propagandist...the way Sanders is being "broadcast" on ATS as some "hero for the people".

These are the ones I worry about most....the ones everyone loves...the ones that promise every ideal....

Care to share your statistical analysis of how the number of Bernie threads compares to the number of threads about other candidates for the 2016 election?

Care to share your statistical analysis of how many of the threads have been started by long-standing members versus those who might be here to spread "disinfo?"

There are many very logical explanations for why there are so many threads, key among them being he just recently entered the race, is one of the few contenders that is not GOP and not Hillary, and he seems to resonate with and is doing well among the public.

ETA: He's been popular with a lot of people for a very long time, making frequent appearances on show like Real Time and others for years and no one thought he really would stand a chance, and yet now it seems he does. That's noteworthy.

Is something different, the only way we'll know how different is to see what happens. If he fails or proves to be corrupt after all, then it's just more of the same. At least people have some hope for once. If he's nominated to run for president I may vote for the first time in years. I'm sure this is true for a lot of people.

I don't think anything will come of it, BUT I have more hope for him, even if he fails, then I've had for anyone who was clearly a corporate bought shill.

Don't have one...

Again, don't have one...

Again, to my point of this thread...Bernie Sanders supporters are swarming ATS right now....just seems odd.

It is very simple. It is because there is an election next year and he appeals to a lot of people.

It isn't much different from the last election when Ron Paul threads flooded the boards. Soon you will be seeing more both pro and con about him.

You will see fanatics and dissenters. It is really just a cycle.

It's becoming clear Hillary has no chance of being President.

Even as some are bashing Trump, Bernie seems to have less of a chance.

It shows both sides are willing to go to extremes.

Nobody in America wants another Clinton v Bush.

I think people like him? I hadn't noticed an overabundance of Sanders threads.

That doesn't make sense because, so far from what I've noticed, ATS Bernie fans have been long-time members. Like me. Do you think we were all long-con plants, waiting for this moment to strike?

Maybe because it's refreshing to think that someone not beholden to big money and not part of one of the royal families actually stands a chance. You know. How it's supposed to be.

That is an interesting thought: "How it's supposed to be".

Could you show me where in the constitution is this part written down? You know, the part about "the prez has to come from not-VIP-families, does have to be in no connection to them or money$"?

Because the grounding fathers left that part out. Look at them and you can tell why! White, rich, priviledged, money in the families.

And once there comes a black president, everyone goes off.

He is the new Ron Paul
the guy who everyone should vote for but will not get in
.

Maybe people are excited about his candidacy.

I see Rand Paul threads all the time.

I'm seeing even more Donald Trump threads.

I think its just your perception.

You weren't around for the Ron Paul deluge then when at times it seemed every other new thread was devoted to his Paulness? Or the never ending drip of anti Obama/Democrats that has been going on for the last few years? I'm not sure why this is any different.

Oh, he's authentic. He wants to take all your money to redistribute as government sees fit.

I have yet to figure out why so many people are in love with this concept unless they think it will only apply to the "evil rich" and not to them, but a 90% tax rate is a 90% tax rate.

I don't know about them, but I cannot survive if I suddenly lose the remaining 60% of the income I am left after taxes every year. I will go bankrupt. And I do not want to apply to the government for their "generous" programs to survive. I've seen the endless rounds of certification paperwork and inspections I would have to submit myself to in order to qualify. They meddle. I don't want them to meddle in my life anymore than they already do.

Not to mention, I work hard to keep them out of my life as much as possible. Bernie will be working to make them my hand-holding partners in life.

For some reason, people want this.

Now, if you want this, I wish there was a way you could have it without forcing me to have to ride right along with you.

Is it as much anti-Obama/Democrat as it is anti-government. I'm sure it was no kinder to Bush/Republicans in their day.

Face it - When "your side" is perceived as The Man, it's the price you pay. The government isn't popular no matter who runs it.

because the nation is clammoring for something different. Everyone is desperate to think outside the box, but not insightful enough to actually do it. So Bernie is what that looks like.

It used to be Ron Paul before it was obvious he would die before serving out a full 8 year term. Rand is a nutjob. So is Bernie, but no one has figured that out yet. Maybe because his hair doesn't look like he is being attacked by the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Has Bernie released his financial statements yet?

I'm dying to see what those look like
