The bible is a self hating scripture, that deems all humans unworthy and disgusting and inherently evil. Yes for as much the message of love is preached in the gospels much self hatred and self loathing as well, infact I would call the bible nihilistic and negative and the impacts such literature in truly believing all of it's words can be devastating. But to each there own.

All religion fails in it's own way I'm specifically talking about the bible because you brought it up.

While we're on the subject of alternate theories of magical and imaginary beings, I am put in mind of a piece of advice the Old Norse gave to the young:

"Don't feed the trolls."

LOL.

Why is it that someone puts up ONE little statue of Dick Cheney and suddenly everyone is up in arms?

Fantastic observation.

The evil worshiping white people
putting up a statue to a God that represents evil,
with black people fighting the oppression
of the white people trying to force evil symbolism on their city.

Wow! Great observation.

How did the practice of freedom of religion become oppression against black people?

Didn't you read the observation? It was in the quote above my response.

The writer said that the people putting up the statue were white
the people protesting the statue were black

So the black people were protesting a statue to a symbol
of evil being erected by white people

If you had read the observation you would have seen the
analogy immediately.

Yes, I read it and get the analogy.

I just fail to see where it is rooted in any sort of reality.

Ok so now the statue is meant to upset black people, man black people cannot get a break! This is a travesty!

Is THAT where the racial aspect was leading? I couldn't figure it out. Clearly the people who think race was a factor didn't watch the video.

Yea to be honest I don't know what she's on about, there's absolutely no racial aspect to this other than a contrived one in my opinion. Meh

Technically, I think Mr. Cheney is Sith, not Satanist ... but your point remains.

You may wonder
as you wander through
these many wonderful
posts,
just why so many,
seem to post merely,
to see words on the
screen. I know I do.

You believe the church has interpreted scriptures correctly.

I don't personally find the message of perpetual imperfection (aka fallen). I find the message of born ignorant. I do not agree with the way the church has defined the scriptures.

I see no self hate in them. Only an understanding that we are born ignorant and through acquiring knowledge we can overcome our ignorance.

And I agree the church does teach a form of self-hate and self-righteousness.

I don't follow either of these principles, which is why I said both the Satanists and the Religious fail to understand the scriptures.

I was commenting on an observation made by another person. Who noticed this.

Then people said we needed to take all religion and all talk of "magical beings" out of the conversation.
That this was about more than religion or magical beings or magical thinking.

The obvious racial divide was the only thing left that was observable between the supporters of the statue and the opponents of the statue.

Yes if you take "magical beings" and "religion"
out of the conversation and look objectively at the statues,
that is all you are left with.
Don't forget to add in looking at societal norms as important.

The only thing left that reflected current concerns
about societal norms, removing the religion aspect,
and being completely objective using only the observable was:

The black people felt the statue represented evil
and their protests reflected their observation of
the meaning of the statue,
the statue was erected by white people
who felt differently about the meaning of the statue.

I don't disagree with you, I am being absurdest in my observation.

Taking one issue and by following the logic of others,
being left with only one absurd conclusion.

A common thing to happen on ATS, except I'm admitting to it.
Following the demands of logic by others
and ending up blaming a favorite target group
rather than seeing the reality of what is happening.

Yes wise words thank god for the Norse or praise satan or whatever, maybe I'll light some candles tonight and do ohms sounds until I do the flipping chicken on the floor and have a spiritual awakening. At which point, I to will protest this statue and all it's followers ...

In other words,
you're trying to imply
that all observations
of racial inequality, are
just as ludicrous as
what you've posted
here.

How generic. How
inane. Why do you
have a problem with
equality?

I think racial equality is wonderful and should be celebrated.
Does the fact that all that is left observably
is the race of the two groups upset you?
Can't help it.

Just taking to it's logical conclusion,
the demands of the way the previous posters
wanted to look at the situation.

People were clamoring to look at the situation outside of religion and outside of societal norming.

Which I did and look, it made you upset reporting on strictly the observable and taking all emotion out of the situation.

I didn't see any
previous posters
insisting on anything, frankly.

I wonder why
you always try to cast
others as "upset"
when all they're doing
is posting just like you.

Why can't you let people be who they are?
Why can't you let people believe what they believe?
and express themselves as they choose,
rather than trying to rewrite what they
say.

Don't you believe in freedom?

Reread all the posts and you will find people asking for others to look at the situation in these ways.

Why does it upset you that I use my freedom on this forum to express the absurdity of how I see people
asking for this situation to be looked at?

I am expressing myself in this manner, but it seems to upset you, sorry.

When everything is stripped from the video except the objectively observable
and all religious judgement removed
and we look at it the way the politically correct demand we look objectively
at situations regarding societal norms.

This is what we are left with, and it is my freedom to express what I see
as the only observable truth of the situation outside of religion:
The black people felt the statue represented something they
do not approve of,
and their protests reflected their observation of
the meaning of the statue,
the statue was erected by white people
who felt differently about the meaning of the statue.

This is my freedom of expression, expressing itself
totally bias free of all religion and religious ideas.

Actually, what I am observing here is that people
are quite uncomfortable and shaken by the
only observable truth apart from religion;
because it shakes their view of how the world
"should be". So the objective observable is quite
uncomfortable to many. Sorry about that.

The ignorant people who protest this statue are a perfect image of ignorance.

Modern Satanism revolves on believing in one self and living to the fullest without boundaries, and uses Satan as a symbol of that. Modern Satanism does not follow the beliefs of mystical and holy beings.

So if you think this statue is evil, then you need to do some research.

Even then, Satanism that actually believes in the actual devil deity don't follow evil practice but once again just the act of believing in yourself and living without boundaries.

But if you complain about Satanic cults (which may be evil), then don't forget about the Jonestown Massacre.
