What ideological stances do you agree with me?

Where do we see eye-to-eye?

What do we agree on?

To answer your question, I'm conservative to the extent that I think governments should operate in the black, and apply the maxim of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

So you are for less taxes?

Whenever viable and appropriate ... certainly. And I'm for more taxes when those are needed.

Preferably a progressive tax that takes more from those who have more to give, as they have benefited more from the system.

I also don't believe that government should take in more than it needs.

Freedom is a generic and oft-misused term. I agree with you regarding equitable treatment and protection for all before our laws.

Depends on our respective moods. Sometimes we get along together fine; sometimes, not so much.

We agree on our love of America, I think.

(Why did you go off asking about my being conservative, I still don't get that line of thought?)

They'll get whoever they want in office anyways. No matter what a politician campaigns about they'll always do an about face when they are elected. They follow the money and we the people do not have it.

Like I said, buying into the two party system is only furthering their goals to divide us.

Don't you have conservative qualities? Don't you have conservative ideals and share conservative ideologies?

I agree.

They (DNC, GOP, Lobbyists) all get together, grab a sampling of all that they would like to see as president. Then they offer their selection for us to "choose".

Out of 310 million people, we get to pick the ones that lie the least and is the least corrupt.

I laugh because the alternative is to sob hysterically.

I hear this, and agree with aspects of it, but I also have a bit of a different prioritization in my perceptions, if you'd indulge me.

I don't think having two "parties" or even having two parties that seek to control the people by "divide and conquer" is the biggest issue facing us.

I believe that the increase in belief-based rather than evidence-based understanding and the promotion of emotional rather than critical thinking are our biggest threats as a People.

If we all focused on the facts (evidence-based) rather than opinions (belief-based) and had even rudimentary skills in actual critical thought ... those that wish to control us would have a far, far harder time dividing us.

I don't label my perceptions and beliefs unless I'm interacting with others.

Also, you may use the word conservative far differently than I would.

But, semantic considerations aside, yes, in some ways.

Didn't I already answer that?

Can I only pick one description?

Do you consider yourself conservative?

If so, what do you mean by that?

Don't forget the RNC, your bipartisanship is showing.

I have no issues with paying taxes that go to things that benefit everyone as they are meant to. I'm particularly fond of the special-purpose local-option sales taxes (SPLOST) we use sometimes here in GA (yes, I actually like something about GA). Those can work well, have time or goal limits, and can really get things done.

I also believe that a consumption based system with no loopholes might be the most equitable as opposed to the income tax, though I'm often told I'm wrong. it's simpler and makes more sense to me to tax what's going out than what's coming in and then tax it again going out. I'm not opposed to a flat tax either, providing every person, corporate or otherwise paid it too...no exceptions.

Our income tax structure and it's billions of pages of loopholes and exemptions sucks, but taxes aren't all bad. they mostly get bad when someone gets butt hurt and uses them as a talking point.

No problem.

I criticized republicans.

People aren't used to seeing that.

That's what you get for registering as a Democrat. We have the forms coated in mind-control poison.

Muahahaha.

That's another thing.

People are shocked that I'm a registered democrat.

It's like I have to adhere to everything the dems say, just because I joined the party.

I know just what you mean!

Just because one is a registered Democrat, or, because one wants the truth to be emphasized, one gets called all sorts of things: leftist, progressive, socialist, what have you.

I hate pigeon-holing.
